Thank you Lauren Curtis for teaching me how to clean my brushes with something as cheap as dish soap! You saved me so much money! Eventually I will get a professional soap cleaner, maybe something like that bar of soap you showed... I thought that was nice. But for right now, Palmolive it is!

Guys, water is indeed a renewable resource. The problem is some areas of the world don't have either the knowledge or the equipment to clean and purify it. She isn't really wasting water, it will cycle back. I'm all for helping out the planet and being careful, but there is no need to be rude and hateful to get your point across. Instead of complaining about the water she wasted in this video donate money to charities that help to educate people on how to clean their water or will help to fund the equipment necessary for them to do so. I love that y'all care about the planet, but take that passion and use it in a loving manner instead of fighting on KZbin comments! Also, love ya Lauren! Thanks for the info.

I was wondering if you could do a video about which brushes you use for what? I've honestly never used brushes and I went to buy some and was completely lost! There are so many different kinds and I know you name the ones you are using during your videos but I'd love to see one focused on just the brushes. Also I'm on a right budget, what recommendations do you have? Thanks and I love your videos.

@laurenspooner85019 жыл бұрын
I just deep cleaned my makeup brushes for the first time since I got them and I'm surprised how clean they came out especially my eye brushes as I wear a lot of dark makeup. Surprisingly the only brush I found that started to fray and shed a little bit was my powder brush and I don't have the guards however I did have a wrapper that fitted round it perfectly so hopefully that will keep it all in place thanks for the tips!!!
@MissAussieDiva11 жыл бұрын
Another fantastic video, I wash mine pretty much exactly the same. I used to use bowls of water and turn off the tap in between but it NEVER completely cleaned my brushes and I would have to come back and rewash them.
@kimberlyfalzone371511 жыл бұрын
Omg you need the benjabelle brush tree to dry ur brushes!!! Hangs them upside down to dry. Leaning them up against the wall like that can bend ur bristles. Get the brush tree. It's inexpensive and I use it every day whether I'm deep cleaning or spot cleaning.

Hey Lauren! So i just have to ask you something about makeup brushes… A lot of my brushes has lost their shape and I just bought brush guards from eBay. I can't afford new brushes so I have to ask… If I wet my brushes and put brush guards on, is there a chance that they will get better?
@carolineharris418810 жыл бұрын
You should save your old brushes to make a collage or spell something out and put it in a huge picture frame to remember how far you've come/how much work you put into all of this:)! You know if you're into that sorta thing lol!
@annemacdonald45710 жыл бұрын
I am pretty sure that if you had turned off your water while you were applying the soap and scrubbing the brush on your hand you would have saved like 15 liters of tap water.

Michelle Phan uses those brush guards as well and a good tip she pointed out was that she leaves about 1/2 inches sticking out (if that makes sense) and that way she can actually have the brushes standing up when she puts them in a jar or a glass and that allowes gravity to pull all of the water out that is inside of your brusher, but that little puddle of water in the glass wont reach the brushes because of that 1/2 inch sticking out. I hope i'm making sense, I feel like I'm just rambling nonsense haha :)
@JennaGlitterbomb11 жыл бұрын
Dish soap and olive oil also works quite well. The olive oil 'conditions' the bristles and helps protects them :)

She really isn't wasting much water. If you've ever cleaned your make up brushes before you'll understand how time consuming and frustrating it is to keep turning the water on and off. As well as this it is important to wash your brushes in the most hygienic way possible - which is straight from the tap.
@jadeloden15310 жыл бұрын
Can you wash your brushes too often? For instance if I was doing makeup for a bridal party, would you suggest a spot clean between each girl or a full cleaning to prevent contamination?

Another tip maybe would be, when drying your brushes don't squeeze and pull, just pat it and gently squeeze out the excess water. I feel like it'd pull out the bristles and that happens when I did it that way. :)
