What’d you do to fix it? Buy a new iac?
@Electroskill3 жыл бұрын
@@Screamingz1 I took the throttle body off and scrubbed it clean with carburetor - parts cleaner. I just purchased a new IAC from AutoZone, since my original IAC had never been cleaned and I wanted to start fresh. I now know this is basically a maintenance item to clean out periodically.
@Screamingz13 жыл бұрын
@@Electroskill nice man. I’m going to clean mine soon. It like to die after real light throttle sometimes. And idle funny. The iac may be playing a role in that. Hoping so at least.
@Electroskill3 жыл бұрын
@@Screamingz1 Sounds like that's likely the first thing to check. I can tell you this. I had noticed that my Jeep seemed to be idling a little rough with low RPM, but didn't have any problems otherwise. Then one day, I drove two miles away to my gym and it stalled while I was parking it. On the way home, I had to keep my foot on the gas to keep it from stalling. By the time I got home, it wouldn't stay on at all in idle. That's how fast the problem progressed. The entire throttle bottle was caked. I probably could have gotten by with the existing IAC after I cleaned everything, but since the sensor was already 21 years old and pretty cheap I just decided to replace it while I was in there. Good luck!

I pulled mine off to clean it,because my engine stalls at idle sometimes and realized the O-ring on my IAC is missing. Is it neccesary to have that O-ring? all the auto stores near me say they dont have the right size for it

I’m not sure if it’s absolutely necessary but I would definitely try to get one on there

Is there a certain way the gasket goes on I cleaned my throttle body Jeep ran good before that cleaned the iac put the new gasket on and now runs ruff and shuts off u think maybe the gasket idles at like 200 rpm

I don’t believe so. Something may have gone wrong with the IAC possibly?

There was no gasket and I didjt buy one. Could that be the issue
@KCars Жыл бұрын
Looks like it took me two hours to reply. Did you install it back in the same way? And if there was no gasket before and it was working fine before then I’d say that’s not the issue
@TheNinjaNarwhals Жыл бұрын
@@KCars it wasn’t “fine” per say but it definitely wasn’t running like this. One of my buddies said to disconnect the bat for a few minutes then connect it back up and let it run for a few minutes as well to see if the computer resets the idle since it was dirty and now it’s clean? Idk. And yeah I put it all back together the same way, I just hope I didn’t fuck anything up taking it off
@KCars Жыл бұрын
@@TheNinjaNarwhals hmm ya you could try that. I don’t think you could’ve messed anything up especially if you put in a brand new sensor

So my jeep has sat for 3 years, i added 8 gallons of prem gas to her thinking that would help, however she died after driving 80 miles... i think i ran outta gas... get her to the side of the road, crank crank crank nothing... crank crank crank, she tries to start, dies. Got her running after adding 5 gallons of gas, however, when i give it gas she dies, let her idle for a bit, idles rough ( died sometimes). Now she wont start again, maybe i need to add like 10 gallons of gas with some cleaner? sounding like she's putting herself out... not sure, either clogged or not enough fuel. maybe u have an idea? im gonna test the fuel pressure today and see what she is at, i need 49, if she's good, gonna order all the sensors and change them out, clean the throttle body, add fuel and add techron concentrate to the tank
