Black Girl Curls are doing a pretty good job of educating black women on how to care for their natural hair, and without the condescending tone that Mo has been known to have. What they say only comes off as harsh because it's so foreign from what has been taught on this platform by non-professionals. Plus between the two of them they have over a decade of experience of successfully working with a wide variety of curl types and hair textures in salons.

@@ChristsChemist Totally agree! I started following them and their advice 2 weeks ago and I’ve already noticed a major difference in my hair. I love that they tell it how it is. And yes, most times the people who don’t want their advice are the ones who are not ready to learn!

I think a lot of us mistake influencers for professionals and so we take their advice without knowing if it is founded by science. I think more people need to understand that influencers are talking about what works for their hair specifically, whereas professionals, like Mo, Are telling us what works for Hair in general. I think we should view influencers the same as we view friends and family if they give us advice, we’re always going to take it with a grain of salt but professional’s advice is based on study and research and can be better trusted. When you pay attention you realize that all of the stylist are different, they have their own techniques but the basis of what they are saying is the same. Just my opinion, I hope that helps the newer naturals lol don’t waste time like I did

I have to agree with you. I spent years following unlicensed influencers, which caused my hair actually falling out in chunks. So, I started listening to Mo Knows Hair, and other licensed hair stylists, and my hair started growing like crazy. My hair started holding length without extreme breakage, it also has fullness with volume, and I was able to grow it to armpit length, until I cut it to my shoulder length. The difference between how my hair used to look is like day and night.

Whenever I see someone reviewing a product and they say it doesn’t work when they 1)mixed other products in it 2)didn’t use it in the correct order 3)and of course don’t follow directions. Your previous video was so a huge revelation to me! Thank you so, so, so, so much! I remember I saw an infographic about the order that hair products should be applied on wash day. In was in Portuguese and it had a big red X on the order that had shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner procedure, but had a big green check mark on the order that you described. I didn’t understand why, it didn’t explain it. And I also failed to do more research about it. Then when your video came up last week explaining EVERYTHING, it made perfect sense. I am suffering from the misuse of conditioner to deep treatment order. I just returned from living in a tropical country for 5 years, and my hair changed so much. The hair at the top of my hair lost its curl pattern over the years, especially in the last 12 months I was there. It became dry, brittle, frizzy, and even the cuticle seems uneven and broken. I have not used heat in my hair for years. I don’t know if sun exposure has something to do with it, too. I’m desperately trying to get that part of my hair looking as smooth as the rest of the head. For the last 6 months, I was only using shampoo and deep conditioner, then style with a leave-in and gel. It would look good, but then my hair would appear dry and moisture starved by day 4. Once I saw your previous video, I ordered myself a good conditioner and followed the directions properly and let me tell you, EVERYONE has noticed the difference in my hair. It’s so moisturized, shiny, and the curl pattern is finally a pattern at the top of my hair. A bit loser, but it looks so much better! Thank you, Mo!! You saved my hair from my stubborn self!!

One girl straight up skipped a step because she didn't "like it" and then was upset that it didn't come out how she wanted it. 😑😑 I'm so happy I found your tutorials girl! I have to honestly say it's the best hair I've had since I've been natural (since 2014). Frizz and tangles stayed away for 5 days. Okay, it slowly got more frizzy but, it stayed nice looking for 5 days! I've hardly ever been able to wear my hair for more than a few hours before I get annoyed by it and put it up. And....that was without gel! I'm sorry you're getting so many nay sayers but go you for standing up for your products! I back you 100%.

I got rid of my conditioner a while ago after you gave this same information in other videos! I would like your thoughts (or I would like to request a video on) "flash drying" and wet frizz. I do believe I cleanse my hair properly and remove product buildup once a week since I use your pre-shampoo clarifier and a chelating shampoo (I have hard water), then follow up with a deep condition which I only leave on as long as it takes for me to finish the rest of my shower routing. However, my hair starts to dry and frizz immediately after I step out of the shower (we're talking little to no curl definition the second I start to touch it to style). I am able to tame it with styling products and more water, but like you said in other videos, stylers are just clothing that make my hair look good, but something is going on with my hair's health which results in poor definition and immediate frizz even after cleansing and deep conditioning. Maybe my cuticles are not closing after deep conditioning?

I noticed you don't use alot of oils. What's your advice about using oils on your scalp and ends after styling. BTW LOVE THIS!! Trying to teach my daughter. I admit I have slept in my conditioner for years and my hair has thinned. I never knew I was damaging my hair. Thank you so much for this.

@@MoKnowsHair How do you get back your curls after you’ve been over processing your hair with conditioners? Do you just cut it off or will it come back by following these steps? My hair has been frizzy and not as curly as it used to be.

My hair builds up easy and I'm low porosity. Wash one or twice week. Definitely gonna try going straight to deep conditioner after my shampooing. One side of my hair is always frizzy though no matter I do. I also have less hair one side comparison to the other.

My hair is the same. One side is always frizzy, plus it's looser. I just learn to embrace my hair for what she is 🤷🏾♀️.
