Please note; I'd been doing some minor bathroom renovations as this problem occurred, so there was sanding dust around, on the lid etc...Rest assured, I gave that toilet a complete clean inside and out, after the job was done! (Insert embarrassed icon!) 😌

Wow, I recall years ago as a child our house would always have root issues in the pipes but those plumbers back then had what looked like a long spring. Great footage of the pipe in the end. 👍 Thanks again for sharing good sir but touch wood I’ve never encountered this issue. 🤷

Yeah, it's always tree roots, except sometimes too much, or the wrong TYPE of toilet paper, can cause a blockage (never buy cheap rubbish paper that doesn't quickly disintegrate in water - a common problem apparently - stick to name brands). Our now retired plumber, and others before him, used the long 'eels' as they call them - those are the long sections of springy helicoil sections of which you speak. I lost count of the times back when they've been used here, they would jam up and even get stuck in pipes! Sometimes, they're still ok for straight lengths of pipes, but when there's difficult curves and multi-directional pathways (such as in this particular video); the old 'eels' simply are too fat and inflexable, to navigate the turns, in order to cut the roots. That's why these high pressure jets are far and away, the best option - especially when combined with camera footage that shows the plumber exactly what's happening at the blockage.

@@SteveMack Ah, now that explains things, thanks Steve. Yeah I was told years ago about using proper toilet paper. Definitely no newspaper lol 😂 Our friend across the ditch has been quiet lately.

Apparently COSTCO cheap dunny paper is the worst offender, re toilet paper - other bad ones are disposable wipes (even the one's called 'flushable'!), napkins, disposable face wipes etc, sanitary 'things' - ONLY toilet paper should be flushed!! Don't know if you saw my further lengthy reply the other day, outlining my theories - I saw another video the other day (not sure if it's still there); ...MORE dead fish, and more new ones (doomed I reckon); and further strengthening my initial thought, was he'd only just bough a scoop net, and also said in it, that he was tired of getting his sleeve wet; SO - As per my theory; toxic product residue on hands / arms, and clothing, is the reason for their unfortunate demise...😕

@@SteveMack I went back to reply to it but couldn’t find it Steve. 🤷 That makes sense that he is a cleaner etc. Wow the animals that have died are extraordinary including the rabbits. Its a little frustrating watching his vids but wish he just took the time out to listen to you and others who have knowledge about those things. Whatever it is can’t be too good for him either. 😬

@@SteveMack I keep trying to write replies but they don’t seem to appear 🤔 It’s actually frustrating Steve.
