Thanks for showing us how to clear a blocked pan or drain. About 10 years ago I had the same blocked drain outside, called dyno rod and they charged me about £50 and it took them only 10 minutes to unblock it. I think I need to buy some rods just in case. I have a wood burner anyway so may come in handy for that although my regular chimney sweep will continue to sign off his own work. 😆 Cheers dereton33 👍 🪠🪠 👍 🇬🇧

I bought a set of rods some years ago from B&Q. Best investment I ever made _ cleared blocked drains like this at two of my children's houses more than once as their kids have a habit of putting too much loo roll into the system. I dread to think what the cost of professional call outs would have been. Great advice in the video and easily do-able.

More roughage required (or was it less roughage, I can never remember 🤔) I never had any problems until I bought a new house with the environmentally friendly WC. It may use less water but it often needs to be flushed 2 or 3 times. As the old saying goes - Buy a plunger before you need a plunger.

All good advice, thanks. Just as an extra thought, I've found that a bucket of water at the same time you flush the cistern often shifts a blockage near the pan, it adds a bit more to the head of water pushing and might save you getting the drain rod out. Wouldn't have worked in this case though!

Every month in pay day I do a “mega flush”. Fill everything up and flush all the loos at the same time, idea being it gives everything a nice clean. I then check the drains after.
