Great! I did it. But my problem is bigger. The apps still take up too much space in "Programdata" and "Appdata" folders (even after removing "temp" folder). Is there any way to remove those files without uninstalling the apps?

I’m a new user and recently widowed. How do I know if the files I’m deleting are just junk and not needed for running my computer. My computer will not update windows. The troubleshooter on Microsoft help said to empty the cashe updates and restart the OK to update again. I have no idea where this. Cashe of updates is. Please help.

It's okay to delete any of the files in the folders outlined. All of the files are temp files.

When I type in "prefetch" or "temp" in the run app the window just disappears, so there is no option for performing the next step.
