Super interessante video Kitty! Mijn vraag: hoe kort kan je bij de verschillende kleuren poedels gaan? En hoe laat je een pup wennen aan het (zo kort scheren) van de voetjes en neus? De fokker doet dit normaal ook uiteraard, maar wanneer bouw je het op naar de 30, of zoals je zegt de 0,3mm? Bedankt!

Hoi Evelien, dank je wel voor jouw berichtje. Het is altijd aan te raden om zo kort mogelijk te gaan bij het scheren van de voetjes. Voor ieder kleur neem ik dezelfde lengte ( #30) , tenzij de hond er allergisch op reageert zou ik een #15 of #10 nemen. Het laten wennen is eigenlijk conditionering. Heel rustig, vol vertrouwen en met enorm veel positieve aandacht. Op zo jong mogelijke leeftijd laten wennen aan kort scheren, meestal doet de fokker dit van zodra ze een paar weken oud zijn, en misschien kan je zelf om de week gaan bijscheren. Do you have a clipper suggestion for tiny toy feet? My paw work is shabby because I can't seem to get a GOOD clipper smaller enough to really get between his toes and around the nails. I will definitely be doing this with my standard! Thank you!

Mostly breed tradition/style but has the added benefit of preventing the feet picking up as much dirt and debris, the original reason for it in hunting poodles. Feet also get wet outdoors and wet poodle type fur mats if not dried and brushed out immediately.
