This is hands down favorite way to crash the line. With the elbows pointed out like horns, they are natural hook covers. This is a great entry technique against a sucker punch. You don't need to even know what hand is being thrown because your elbows cover your head on both sides.

You mean the horizontal elbow? Isn’t it just the same mechanics as a superman punch but with the elbow instead? Stepping forward with the lead foot and kicking your rear foot back as you lunging in for the strike

Personally I prefer the lunging/superman tomahawk elbow or chopping elbow, however you wanna call it, you see Liam Harrison do it to rodlek near the end of the fight and cuts him hard

Dave, I fucking miss these! You're literally the only guy I know who fights in competition the way I do in street fights! I've trained a bunch of styles striking wise, Kempo, Wing Chung, Muay Thai, and Boxing. Plus I've wrestled, done BJJ, and a little bit of Judo and of course the WC grappling stuff. I was never all about competition as I had my first job bouncing for my family's bars at age 16. I have done a LOT of real world testing of the skills I've picked up and Muay Thai, Wing Chun and Boxing have saved my life more times than I can count! I love Lethwei more than any other combat sport for it's realistic depiction of unarmed hand to hand combat even though there's no submissions. I really wish we had this here in the States! Thanks for everything you post on here, it's some of my favorite content on all of KZbin! I hope you and the family are doing well, I know things have been a little crazy over there. It's okay,grappling in a street fight probably isn't a good idea anyway. Basic grappling to keep control of the arms and head is good but a submission doesn't mean much if your opponent has buddies

How to defend this, the : "close the distance!". We know that all fighting techniques are and...are not solid. I respect everything, I am not a great fan of the double elbow as it cannot generate speed or power, leaves the solar plexus exposed and I can think of many counters already. The whole think relies on three unanswered hits anyway. I'd like Dave's opinion on it. With love and respect. :)

In boxing they'd call that barging. Canelo does something slightly similar, guard up, walks in and invites you to punch his guard, and then when you plant your feet to do that he bounds forward.
