Okay, that still needs to be done often and if you coil and store your ropes in this way, it will always be easy to spread them out and lower them over the edge!

Yes! I have worked with so many people that have not been shown how to roll up a rope. This can be done with any length and ensures no knots in the rope. Also if you are using long lengths doubled over, say 200m as 2 X 100m you should tie the 2 ends together so they do not get tangled. Also make sure the end when you start is a little bit longer than the loops as well as when you poke the other in through and loop it over to tie it off you can pole it through and tie a hitch if you intend to move the ropes around lots and throw them about. Do not just grab your ropes in a bundle and drag them across plant room floors people as it is bad for the ropes and worse for the hands should you sweep up filings with them. Thanks Peter! This is one of those pet peeves of mine. Just take the time to store them properly and rigging them up is easy. I hate having to sort through a tangle of loops to find that magic one that makes them disappear 😉. What you describe I have had happen to me.. I rig a rope and lower it out and suddenly there is a metal filing through the glove in my finger..

Ropes over a 100m long just land in a bag with top end tied at the entrance. :D

Can you show method with a 700foot line or is there a more efficient way?

I can't.. I don't have ropes that long... Make long coils till the ground until you can't (should be around 350ft), tie it of and do the same with the rest of the rope. You basically get two coils connected in the middle. Does that make sense?

how about 182 meter rope can you still do this method?

That's a strangely specific rope length haha. And yes, it is possible. Just make the loops till your feet, do 100 meters, finish the coil. Start again at the other end and do it again. Now you have two 100 meter coils connected in the middle. Not 182, but if it works with 200 meter ropes......
