If I can add: 1- It is wise to protect the columns associated with the query function as no manipulation/changes can occur. Query is a filtering type function so changes in data can only occur at the origin of data. 2- Using the IMPORTRANGE function with the Query function can combine multiple Google Sheets (not tabs but separate Sheets) which then can create database like actions. Thanks Scott! One similar thing I would like to learn is how to pull together data from separate sheets so that similar items get tallied. Using your example from this video, if I want to see a simple total for each sales exec, or another where I can see a total for all art sold or all binders sold. I would like to customize a budget sheet where daily expenses are entered and simultaneously are added to the monthly total sheet as well as my year to date total sheet

Is there a way to combine multiple sheets together in a master tab (like you are doing) and make it sort-able? Have two roster that I want separate, but want a master tab of them that I can still sort through (sort by "last name" A-Z, etc.)

With this formula it is important that people can enter or edit data where Col1 always needs to have valid data. It’s always nice to see some SQL thrown in somewhere.

Is there a way to have a sheet send me a regularly scheduled email highlighting certain parts of a sheet? For example, say I have a sports league that I manage and after every game's stats are entered, I'd like to have it automatically send out to the teams the results of that game, the current standings, and maybe the current leaderboard for touchdowns or home runs or whatever. Ideally, I'd create a summary page that's nicely formatted with graphics, but I'd also like to potentially pull data from multiple sheets when necessary.

Thank you for this informative tip. I would like to see if there is a way of capturing data from ebay to put into google sheets. I have a sheet that I manually update every day, wondering if it could be automated. As I have 6 eBay accounts I have an entry for active listings, unsold listings, free remaining listings, listings ending today, eBay fees. Then it totals them so that I can see the data for all my accounts.

You need to correct the title as it is misleading. What you did was combine TABS together, not SHEETS (which would imply multiple SHEETS files; Google Sheets is what Google calls their spreadsheet app and the 'files' that it creates so it isn't a generic term in this context).

I am trying this and it is not working for me. Very frustrating. I keep getting a Parse Error. My issue may be unique in that my workbook is consolidating data by use of Importranges from multiple workbooks into on group workbook. In other words, I am bringing in sales data from 6 different locations. The headers and columns all match. The consolidated workbook (Master Sales Log) is receiving the sales data from all 6 locations by importranges. So now I have 6 worksheets with similar data and I want to do as you did in this example video and bring all of the sales data into one sheet.
