Wouldn't going into detail may work if the hiring manager has the same profession...In my case as a finance professional with hiring manager being CFO, both of us may understand financial and technical details. Will that not work then?

Hi Linda, thank you for this video! Can I ask you a question? I have two interviews tomorrow (both via Teams), one is a 1st stage interview, the other a 2nd stage interview. My question is how should I answer a competency question that I simply don't have an answer for, because I haven't had the exact experience they are talking about in the question. I have many examples for some questions they are most likely to ask however I'm worried in case I get a very obscure one! (my jobs are for HR Coordinator roles if that helps). Thanks!

I would say you need to provide info on what you DO know about that topic. So research it, understand and at least be able to talk about what it is, it’s purpose and how it works. Then relate it to you and how you would be able to pick it up and master it, and share any info on work that you’ve done that’s related to this. I teach this in my SOGH methodology - connect with me if you want more guidance! www.lindaraynier.com/sogh

@@LindaRaynier Hi Linda, thank you so much. I did my interviews and luckily there were no unexpected questions which was good however I made sure that I answered in such a way so that they knew I had an idea about what I was talking about!

Should someone disclose they are currently in the process of moving during an interview for a remote position or should they disclose after accepting the job offer?
@LindaRaynier17 күн бұрын
When discussing relocation during an interview for a remote position, it's important to be transparent and strategic; jsut be honest about your plans and also emphasize your flexibility so they know it won't impact your availability or work schedule. Turn it into a positive by focusing on your commitment to the role!
