Hi Catherine! You have done an amazing job. Thanks for the comprehensiive video. I was just about to apply and i noticed they have added another menu to the dashboard called ''Current physical address'' which ask for the National code and how long has one stayed in the current physical address in years, month, week,day. I'd severally picked the correct responses but it would not allow me to to the next page. I really need your help. The icon is placed immediately after "Home physical address"

For hotels in Cape Town, this is my personal favourite but it is pricey: expedia.com/affiliates/catherinetme/ellerman For Johannesburg, this hotel isn’t terribly far from the airport, but I love it and how the garden smells of jasmine: expedia.com/affiliates/catherinetme/peech I also have more hotels and tour ideas in the description 😊

Thank you for your video, it is very helpful. I come from a French-speaking African country, did you know if the documents to be uploaded must be translated into English or can they be submitted in French ?

I’m glad I could help, and what a great question! While I haven’t found any official guidance stating the documents need to be translated into English for a visa, I know for sure that SA requires birth certificates of minors visiting the country to be translated into English. Based on that requirement, I would have your documents translated into English to be on the safe side.

Is your nationality exempt from having to pay the fee? There are some which are exempt.

Thanks for a helpful video. What would your estimate for the average wait time be? I submitted my application 12th Sept, and have a flight booked for Oct 3rd. I a little bit worried i might not get the visa before my departure date.

It’s pretty unpredictable, unfortunately. I’ve known people who got theirs within two weeks, and others who got theirs within two months. Hopefully yours comes through soon!

thanks for the video. I applied, uploaded all required documents and paid. now the status is awaiting supporting documents. As the application is submitted, i cannot upload anything. Does anyone know what it means. Does it means that the embassy is checking and will update me if anything is needed. The status is unclear

If you’re a U.K. citizen you don’t need a tourist visa for SA. But if you’re not, I don’t see why living in the U.K. would prevent you from doing so.

People, be really careful. I submitted the bank statement from my bank and they were declined. They want bank statements from a bank with a signature and a stamp on!!!! My bank doesn't even do that because it's an online bank. I will open a new bank account tomorrow to try, just to prove I have 150 Euro per month. And yes, the most tedious visa application I have ever seen!
