In this guitar lesson we're going to go over how to solo over the I and IV chord in a blues or blues funk style progression by mixing major and minor pentatonic scales and landing on the major 3rd of each chord at the appropriate time. We go over this by breaking down David Ryan Harris's awesome solo that does all of these things and then I CHALLENGE YOU to create your own solo using elements of the lesson and posting it to the Fretboard Adventures facebook group. This is a whole new paradigm in guitar lessons! Not only showing the notes on the fretboard, but having the scales/arpeggios/keys with finger placement is HUGE!!! Love it! Sold!

i know 20 other people said it already but this is JUST SO GOOD. gaaah. the production value, the animations, the chapters, everything. All these little details that most people wont notice, but make a hell of difference (and are usually the most work haha). so thanks a lot for making this for free :) pandemic got me kinda tough on the money but I'll consider your patreon once that is better.

I subscribed recently which I don't usually do without consideration or on a whim. I truly believe this is the most effective method of learning songs (by relating them to the underlying scales used and visualising them as you do). This is why tabs are boring, if one doesn't understand how a tab is constructed then the magic and the fun is gone as it just becomes rote memorization and regurgitation of notes. Either way, keep it up man!

Awesome lesson, very well produced! Most interesting part of the solo for me is that diminished arpeggio. Still trying to make sense of why you'd call it an E diminished arpeggio, from a theory perspective, seeing as it's Identical to the F#7 chord except for that one little G note on the B string.

Wow blown away by this lesson! Explaining the exact scales and or note(s) that is being played over each chord is so important and it annoys and frustrate wondering why other instructors always leave that out! That important detail alone sets you apart from the rest for sure! Then add those awesome color coded fretboard visuals to go along with it all and you got pure gold! I'll definitely have to check to see if you have any well structured courses for intermediate players! Either way, you got my interest that's for sure!! Excellent job!
