plate man should initiate and do all talking. Base guy may chime in at end when asked by plate man in front of coaches, "was there anything else I missed we need to cover?"...

Pregame meeting is between the officials. Plate meeting, or conference, is between the officials and head coaches. I'm not saying it's intentional, but the video title is misleading at best. IMHO

If you would like to present yourself on you tube to be a trainer please make sure that you are explaining that this is called a plate conference. I went in thinking a pregame meeting is what you were referencing to have with your partner before you walk on the field.

Rule book calls it a pregame conference.

I thought the same thing. There is a difference between Pre-Game meeting (between all members of the umpire crew to review responsibilities and understand how each works) and a Plate Conference (meeting between umpire crew and head coaches to discuss ground rules). Regardless of the terminology in the rulebook as Official Finders points out, in the real world these are the terms we use.
