I typed the commands but forgot to type the "copy running-config startup-config" command. When I saved and closed and opened packet tracer, there were no issues. Will there be any issues if you forget to type the command??

Yes, It'll be an issue. copy running-config startup-config command saves the current IOS configuration to NVRAM as startup-config file, and whenever router shall boot-up then it loads the previous configuration (i.e., startup-config file.. if any). I'm not sure why It doesn't happen in packet tracer but you better to give this command to save your configuration.

You can't even ping between two different VLANs, even after configured a trunk port.

IP routing Command missing.use this and you will able to do inter vlan routing.
