Thank you. This is literally the only helpful video I have found on this. My wife is ready to have me sleep in the chicken coop if I don't get the new LG dishwasher hooked up quick. 😅

Just wanted to say thanks for posting this instructional video! I was able to devise a setup similar to your video and its working great with our portable dishwasher. 🤘

Excellent! I like how you got straight to the point and got it done! I’m going to pick up the parts today. Thanks so much for including links. You made it so easy!

You were seriously amazing and have solved so many problems with this portable dishwasher shenanigans! I do have a question so where the soap dispenser is how do you keep the flange tight and flush against the sink? I’m trying to look for that part online and I can’t find it because without the twisty part to keep the flange on it it’s just all wobbly.

Glad it helped! It's been a minute, so I just looked to jog my memory. Looks like I used the fastener from the removed soap dispenser, which is too large to actually screw onto the washer machine utility valve part, but that part comes with a fastener, which I used to secure the soap dispenser fastener to the under side of the sink, which holds it pretty well.

Gonna run this set up today. Should I tap into my hot water line or cold ?
@danw.79352 жыл бұрын
Nice! Tap into the hot line. You might already know the next part but while I'm at it You can run the water with the hot side open until it gets hot and then you'll be able to feel the temp difference between hot and cold to know which is which.

When you run it, how do you get it to drain without getting the water all over the place? I’m trying to put one in my camp & I have that exact faucet. My one at home is a normal faucet, but I know it’s pretty forceful when it drains, so just wondering how it’s working for you.
@danw.79352 жыл бұрын
@@ellisg74 I put a cloth on the end of the sink where it sprays to and nothing gets outside the sink with that. If that didnt work i was thinking the best option would be to hook up a 90° to the utility faucet.

Hi Dan, Thanks for making this video! I had a same issue. I have a question. what is the adapter between valve and dishwasher adapter? I accidentally bought a 1/2 valve so I need another adapter for it lol.
@danw.79352 жыл бұрын
Glad you found it helpful! It was the adapter that came with the dishwasher. It's a utility faucet to quick connect adapter.
@rayc3103 Жыл бұрын
You can unscrew that for the hose. Should see a 5/16” female . You’d just need an adapter for the hose
@danw.7935 Жыл бұрын
True, but I would have to do that every time I run the dishwasher. Setting it up the way I have it set up means I don't have to do as much to hook up the dishwasher unit when I go to use it.
@danw.793524 күн бұрын
If I had enough space under or near the sink, I would keep it hooked up like that, but since there's not enough space I need to unhook it and move it out of the way every time... I have the machine on one of those shelves on wheels with a cutting board surface on top.

I’m doing this now & having an issue of not enough pressure to either line. The original supply line I got was a bit short- it just barely reached, so I’m about to try a longer one but I don’t think it’s the main issue. Any ideas what might solve the low pressure? When I hook up just one of either line the pressure seems fine, it’s when they’re both connected in the T then it goes low
@danw.7935Ай бұрын
@clif_plays I didn't encounter that, and can't think of why that would be happening. Is it all sealed up well, no leaks?
@clif_playsАй бұрын
@@danw.7935 all sealed up & no leaks, wonder if it’s just a quirk in the plumbing at my place. I’m renting a small ADU so some things are put together a bit odd, & I’m not totally sure if my hot water is separate from my landlord’s. I’m a little hesitant to ask him about it & reveal that I’ve been messing with the lines under the sink, but I did a good enough job with it that there’s no damage or problems there lol. Could live with just a separate hot water tap, but it does make me curious to try & problem solve.
@danw.7935Ай бұрын
@clif_plays another thing to confirm is that the T has the hot water going to it, and the two connections going from it are the hot water for the modern faucet and the new hot water utility faucet.
@danw.7935Ай бұрын
@clif_plays as long as it's connected right it should maintain the initial pressure, however if you run both the modern faucet hot water and the utility faucet (running your countertop dish washer for instance), you'll experience half pressure in each while they're both on. However the pressure for either one should be equal to the other if only one is on, and that should be the same as the pressure you started with before the install.

The dishwasher's hose connector is usually vertical, so it drains straight down. Since the new water valve outlet is horizontal, isn't the drain also horizontal? How you do you get it to drain into the sink?
@danw.7935 Жыл бұрын
Good question, you can connect a 90 degree / elbow fitting onto the utility faucet. I just watched it the first few times and it pretty much shoots right into the sink with my setup, even though it starts horizontal, it gravity feeds into the sink pretty well. There is some splash, but I just keep a few rags splayed around the splash zones and it works just fine. But like I said, if you want, you can get a 90 degree elbow, or even a flexible hose attachment like the kind for washers.

Hi! Im just having this problem too. May i ask what's that thing between the valve and the dishwasher adapter? I couldn't find it anywhere
@danw.7935 Жыл бұрын
It's a part that came with my countertop dishwasher, but it's called a dishwasher faucet adapter.
@ZadyArianaW Жыл бұрын
@@danw.7935I have that adapter and the washing machine valve but they don't fit each other, do you have something in between that is connecting then?
@danw.7935 Жыл бұрын
@ZadyArianaW I think infigured it out, it looks like I did overlook that one in the description. I think the part you're looking for is a Danco 10511 (portable washing machine adapter). That part thread's onto the valve on one side and the other washing machine adapter on the other side. The washing machine adapter should have threads on the inside for this part to thread into.

@danw.793511 ай бұрын
You should be able to do the same or similar plumbing. If there's a stud in the back, I bet you could fasten the connection to that if needed.
