Hi! Quick question, do you know if the camera will still record ambient audio using its own mics in addition to the mic that's connected, or will it just record the mic's audio and not the ambient audio from the camera's mics as well?

It will pick up the audio from the mic connected, not the camera mics. If you wanted to have a mic that can pick up two audios, and one that is just sat on the camera you could go for something like the Rode Wireless ME, because the RX is also a Mic. So you can have one mic on you and the other mic just sat on the camera. What are you planning on recording?

@@VlogTechVibes oh that's a bummer! I'm planning on recording flights as I'm a pilot, and I wanted to record the ATC comms using the mic adapter plus a cable, and also record the cabin sounds with the internal mics.

You could record the ATC sounds using your phone? If you hook up a lav mic and attach it near to your headset and just hit voice record on that one, then you'll get your voice plus the ATC. Then you could rig up your Ace Pro somewhere in the cabin so you can get either shots of you flying or shots of the skies ahead? I'd definitely go for 2 mics, just because if you get one terrible audio then you can't really salvage it, but if you have 2 chances of recording audio then even if one is terrible you can hopefully salvage the other.

You are able to connect the DJI Mic 2 via Bluetooth to the Insta360 Ace Pro and record audio, but it's only working with Ace Pro firmware version 1.0.21. With 1.0.25 they break it and in 1.0.35 it is still not fixed again.

No it won’t work unfortunately, I tried it recently as someone else asked me the same question and you can only connect using 3.5mm cable

Hi! I have an issue, when I connected the audio of airpod with instant Ace pro, the audio result completely silent and only take sound directly from the airpod mic when I talked . So no background sound from the ace pro, even I tried to speak directly to the mic hole on Ace pro still no sound. Then I tried disconnected it with the airpod, the mic on Ace Pro works well to catch the sound,(so I assumed no problem with internal mic). Is there any setting I need to change in my ace pro? I tried to gain external mic, to +6db but no change for the result. I need the video that can catch of natural background sound with. Awaiting for your advise...🙏

If you’ve got your AirPods connected then it’ll pick up the sound directly from your AirPods. If you want your voice and you want natural background sound then you could use a shotgun mic or a dual wireless mic. Or if you don’t want buy an extra mic, record using a voice note on your phone connected to your AirPods and use the AcePro for your natural noise and then sync it together in post. Does that help?

Can you use the adapter USBC to MIC instead of Jack 3.5? What happen to that? Did the camera detect it?

No you can't it didn't pick the microphone up. I tried using my rode video mic go 2 using USBC - USBC and nothing happened. So I tried using it without the mic adapter on at all and nothing happened either, so unfortunately it looks like the only way is to use the 3.5mm jack.

Anyone know if the Bluetooth Saramonic SR-BTW Wireless lavalier mic will connect to the Ace Pro? It has a built in receiver so I'm hoping I can use it as bluetooth without having to use the mic adapter. Many 'wireless' mics' have a 3.5mm receiver plug which of course requires the adapter. I'm looking for a mic that I can use stand-alone without needing to remove the charger door to connect an adapter. Thank you

Just upload it to iCloud if you have an iPhone or Google Drive from your phone and then you’re good to go on the computer. But the insta360 app should be supported on windows and Mac

The door on the other side where the battery goes? You don’t need to take that door off, just the one where the mic adapter goes. Should be the same on the ace

Are you trying to connect via Bluetooth? It won’t pick up the mic. If you have the TX and the RX it should work, have you plugged in the RX to the AcePro?

Try a different cable if you have one, see if that works. Does it work on other gear you have?
