Dude your a lifesaver, me and my friend been troubleshooting 2 of our cctv for 2 days, both of them been glitching and going night vision even in the morning. So the solution is to double the power source wire 😅😂😂 Thank you!

Thank you for the video. Is it advisable to triple the wires for the power? I usually only use pairs for power, however, on the rare occasion a camera will go black and white during the day? I’m using the standard Qvis 4 way power supply and a single cat5e cable for each camera. Sometimes if I use one cable for 2 analogue cameras then I will use a separate 2A power supply. What do you advise? Thank you in advance. Forgot to mention, sometimes just unplugging the power supply and re plugging it in resolves the issue. Just don’t understand why this very occasionally occurs? Would the best solution in this instance is to triple the wires for power?

So will hooking like this, you need to do it on the camera end and also the end to hook to the DVR? Does the balun that hooks to the DVR side of the set up also need a power source plugged in ?
@CCTVIreland2 жыл бұрын
These baluns don't need any power, you use the DC plugs to supply power to the camera.

Hi , We have done a install using hikvision color vu 8mp Poc cameras and only 1 camera switches on and has very bad ghosting while the other 2 are off completely. We used a Cat 6 cable for that and is the first time it's happened to us , we are tempted to just run rg59 shotgun cable and power the cameras from a separate splitter psu

Hi. CAT 5 cable have 4 pair. i saw you use 2 pair for power connector and only 1 pair for balun connector. Then there is another 1 pair is left not use on that cable. what is the impact if we use 2 pair for power connector and another 2 pair for balun connector. It is possible? Appreciate your feedback on this.
@CCTVIreland3 жыл бұрын
It is important that you only use one pair for the video connections on the balun. CAT5/6 is UTP cable, that's unshielded Twisted-pair. Each pair is twisted with a different pitch to prevent crosstalk. You can use the remaining three pairs for the power, the more you you the less voltage drop over longer runs. But definitely only one pair for the balun for video transmission. Using two poairs will reduce the distance and may cause ghosting on the image.

Never, ever connect 220v to the baluns, they will go on fire and maybe set your house on fire and electrocute you in the process.

hello mister I have a question? I have in my store 16 channels samsung dvr(sdr-c75300) I want to replace it for Hikvision NVR 32CH 24 PoE The cameras I have are from Samsung (sdc-9441bc) 1080p Full HD resolution Is this adapter suitable for me to install my cameras to? Hikvision NVR plugs with the cat 6 cable? If in the field you can make an episode, how is the method of converting the wires of the BNC cameras to the NVR device, meaning the first party that is installed in the camera is installed through the BNC adapter, and the other side is installed with a direct rg45 wire in the NVR device? Is this method valid and the camera transmits what is recorded to the NVR? Thank you very much

Hi I have a 6 camera setup but last month there was a lot of interference meaning that all channels were scrambled. I bought a new DVR but the problem is still there. I'm using a 8 way power splitter but will only work with one camera at a time. How can I get all 6 working again?

What’s the maximum cable distance you can achieve? I’ve used some “300m rated” baluns and the picture was dropping out and looked awful. Hikvision cameras, cable run roughly 250-300m (not my work!)

@CCTVIreland2 жыл бұрын
@@msw73497349 , we recommend good qulaity 4k 8MP blauns, like the units in this video and good quality CAT6e. Try lowering the camera to 2MP to see if it helps. There are too many variables to diagnose here, try a local installer. 300 metres is a very long distance, we would have used IP cameras and fibre optic cables for. The baluns we use state 400m @ 2MP and 200m @ 8MP.

CCTV with two pairs in the balun gives a certain amount of redundancy in case one pair breaks. This is especially relative and important when installs are carried out in this configuration in cold countries.
@CCTVIreland2 жыл бұрын
It is critically important that you DO NOT double up on the pairs going into the baluns. Ehternet cable is UTP cable with specific twists in the cable, having two pairs can cause interference and video loss, especially on longer runs. You must only use one pair, not two.
@samboswell89592 жыл бұрын
@@CCTVIreland I totally agree. I did this once on a long run approx 60-70 metres and there was interference when doubling up the video baluns. As soon as I reduced it to single wires the interference went. Thank you

Thank you for your comment. This video is about video baluns with screw in terminals. They are a lot smaller and more discreet than video baluns that have RJ45 connectors built-in, which are generally a lot bigger and harder to hide. The problem with almost all Video baluns that use RJ45 connectors is that they don't work very well with HIKVision Turbo cameras. We have tried over fifty different types and haven't found one that works properly. So my expert advice to you is not to use video baluns with RJ45 connectors if you are using HIKVision cameras, they don't work properly.

The pitch of the twist on each pair is different, so you need to use the blue pair for maximum distance. You should read up on the relationship between capacitance, impedance and inductance on a twisted cable. It explains how Ethernet cable works, very interesting and useful.
