Well thank you! The best video on KZbin, that’s high praise! I hope I can live up to it ha! But I’m glad you enjoyed the video and hopefully it helped you out if you want to hook up multiple gaming consoles to one TV.

Have four systems myself all hooked up. AV splitter for my SNES and N64, and the RF for Atari 2600 and NES chained together. Very nice to switch systems within seconds and two or three button presses at the most, and play what you want and when you want to. And I must say, Kaboom for Atari is still as addictive and crazy as it ever was.

@@RayPruitt-ji9jx That’s awesome! An Atari is one system I don’t have hooked up. I’ve got one, in a box, but it just isn’t hooked up right now.

The Xbox officially supports composite out. The headphone jack-looking port on the back is the composite out port.

I don't know anything about hooking up modern consoles, but this guy seems to know what he's talking about, so I believe him.
@ChondroMan3 ай бұрын
Modern consoles are the easiest to hook up. Just power supply and a HDMI cable. The older generation's are more difficult.

QUESTION: why are you using the AV switch for the HDMI capable consoles on a modern flatscreen TV? 🤔
@Maxonum2 жыл бұрын
Lazily trying to get all systems onto the 8 port AV switch. Then I only had a 3 input HDMI switch, and could only hook up 3. Yes sir.
@RayPruitt-ji9jx5 ай бұрын
I'd imagine connecting the AV switch to a RetroTink 2X Pro and the 2X Pro into one of the HDMI ports would be the best route in this case. I'm 98% sure it lets you adjust the aspect ratio too.

I'm very partial to the retro consoles. The newest console I have is the first gen Wii, the one that allows game cube games/controllers. I don't like networked games, because I'm old school. Happiest times of my youth and my children's youth was competing in the living room, together, in person. It's like every other part of the internet; becoming a cess pool. Anyway, I'm working on a project to "hang"/mount all of my retro consoles on the wall around my TV. I've been out of work for health reasons for close to a year now and trying to organize my life during the "break". Problem is, game management costs money that I don't have available right now. But, I had several scrap pieces of plywood and all my consoles will fit nicely on them, so I'm drilling holes for dowels that I'll place where they will poke into the console screw holes as pegs to hold them vertical to the floor, once the back board is secured to the wall. On the back board, I'm attaching a 1" landscape stake to offset from the board with velcro for additional security and placing a computer fan behind each console for cooling during gameplay. I'm excited about this project! I cannot tell you how many components/consoles have died on me due to improper airflow/overheating in my entertainment center. I just replaced my SNES and modded my gamecube due to overheating, and not planning on doing that again. Now that they will be stationary on an open wall with sufficient airflow behind them; they may last long enough that my grandkids can come over for "game night" and enjoy the experience of retro as well. My 4 year old granddaughter is already a Mario kart whiz lol
@Maxonum12 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! Your setup sounds awesome! Mounting retro consoles with cooling fans is such a smart way to keep them alive. Love that you’re preserving these classics for future game nights with your grandkids!

I think it was pointless trying to hook up the PlayStation 1 Game Console if you can PlayStation 1 Games on the Playstation 2 Game Console and on the PlayStation 3 Game Console whether it is on disc or downloaded digitally from PlayStation Store but i thank you very much for showing what materials that i may need because i have multiple video game consoles myself except for the original Nintendo unfortunately. I am not much of a XBOX fan but i do have the Microsoft Xbox only reason I gotten that was because of the Bruce Lee Quest of the Dragon Game but i have the rest of the ones that you named in your video.

I know this video is old but I have to warn you, your ps4 slim is not getting any circulation in the area you chose for it and neither is the xbox 360 E. The ps4 slim captures air from the sides and pushes hot air out the back, you are blocking the circulation in the area you chose. The xbox 360 E probably does the same but regardless they just need more room.

If you have a TV with three or four HDMI hookup say PlayStation 3 PlayStation 2 and retron can it just go on the HDMI switches on the back of the TV instead of your HDMI switches with the wire with three hdmi hookups or would it be easier just one HDMI wire 2 to 3 or 4 HDMI hookups in the back of the TV basically PS3 PS2 and a retron that has super Sega super Nintendo Nintendo would it be easier just to connect them to the HDMI in the back of the TV I apologize for my confusion I have a learning disability I was hit by a car at 7 years old in the face

So the hdmi av cord won’t do it for the switchbox?
@Maxonum3 жыл бұрын
I sure couldn’t get it to work. I bought 3 because I had 3 consoles with HDMI hookups that I thought I could get to convert to AV. None of them worked at all. Maybe a different brand might work, but I haven’t checked that out. Just went with an HDMI 1 input - 3 output adapter instead.
@richardpyle39363 жыл бұрын
@@Maxonum I now think they hdmi converters are for the consoles.
@Maxonum3 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah. I can see that. It’s an AV to HDMI converter, but taking the signal the other way probably doesn’t work. I learn something new every day!

Have you try connecting multiple consoles into a laptop? Say switch and stream them all at the same time? If not what do you think kind of equipment would be needed for that to happen?
