Great video, very well explained 👍🏽👍🏽 If it won't be a bother can u pls explain how one can connect Nvidia Shield TV pro or other streaming devices to a Dolby Atmos Soundbar for a true Dolby Atmos experience at home. Am asking this cause unlike the AVR in this video, most soundbars only have one HDMI port making it impossible to connect the Nvidia shield TV pro and the TV to the soundbar.

Thanks for the video. I currently have my cable box as my hdmi source 1 and nvidia shield as hdmi source 2. When I try to go to the hdmi source 2 to play the Nadia shield box it will go on for 15 seconds and then automatically switch back to source 1. I have to go back with my Logitech remote and have it correct the source 2 input. How do I make it so when I first go to source 2 the shield it will stay on that source and not switch out back to my source one cable?

Please answer this question When you press display on your TV does it show stereo as the nvidia audio output? Does it just show this audio display while it has the output I would like to hear?That's why I don't know if I set it up correctly. When I watch a sorround sound movie from the TV itself (not the shield) it will display the sorround audio output which is using.please let me know if your set up still displays the correct audio or just shows stereo like mine.

My AV Receiver (HK AVR 171S) is HDCP1.4 - HDMI 2.0 pass through 4K enabled. I am planning to plug in Nvidia Shield TV (cylindrical shaped device - not Pro) to my AV Receiver - which will be further connected to my 4K TV (having HDCP 2.2 support). Will 4K resolution video be seen on the TV played from the Shield TV device?

Hi, My shield tv pro is connected to my pioneer av receiver. I also have a tv topbox to watch my normal tv channels, also connected to my receiver. topbox is connected to dvr input, shield to the video input. When I launch my shield I change the input to video manually or with my logi harmony. But It always jumps back to the dvr input. How can I fix this? and using it with google home is also a pain in the ass . My Tv is a Philips 49PUS7503/12 and my receiver is a pioneer VSX-LX55

Are you able to use one remote to control the Shield and the Receiver and the TV such as a Logitech Harmony? Since the Shield does not have an IR sensor?

Perhaps the best way to accomplish that is by enabling CEC on all three devices and program the harmony remote buttons to mimic the shield remote buttons you require but the signal would come via CEC not RF

hey i tried but mines didnt work but i have the old nvidea shield but i just used my hdmi cords on them instead of buying some new ones i got the sme reciever as u have mines from the back look identical as yours and i have a smart tv a samsung do i have to buy a nvidea sheild pro and some high quality hdmi cord in order for it to work please reply i been trying to find a way to do this and everytime i go on youtube it shows your video so please help me thank you hope to hear from u soon

Fred, based on the information you've provided, no we do not believe you need to purchase a different Nvidia Shield and no we do not believe you need different HDMI cables. Our "guess" is that you may have either connected it incorrectly and/or no adjusted settings on your receiver/tv correctly. Sorry, we'd like to assist more however we do not have enough information.
