U're the best. There are a lot of tutorials about "How to make FTP server and connect from local device", but u... U've made video "How to connect to FTP outside the local network". Such a short but very informative video. Thank u very much :)

Thank you for making this video. Your port range gave me an idea to try on my router and it was why I could not connect. I trouble shot it by enabling DMZ mode to figure out it was a port not being opened issue. Then i searched youtube and found your video. Adding a separate ftp entry in my router with the passive port range I used on my server computer allowed filezilla client to get the directory listing. Before I did that I was able to log in to the server but then it would just time out when trying to retrieve directory listing. Hopefully someone else with my same problem will read this and see your video and put it all together like I did. Thanks again.

Hi. How do i do all this when i want ftp over tls(explicit)? When i do this i can’t Connect to the Server outside my local Network. I have Port and Everything enabled in my routers Settings

I am getting the error Server sent passive reply with unroutable address. Using server address instead when connecting to public IP from outside network

Im using Aicloud 2.0 for FTP and i can access to it on my local network but I have no idea how to access to it outside my local network?!?!?! And I'm using DDNS and VPN, Don't know if it will make problem or not.

You will need to access ports on your network through NAT or port forwarding in order to access your FTP, this wont be possible through a VPN as they block inbound port access as part of their security. You will find that you will be protected under CGNAT with your VPN.

(configuring passive) My router requires me to have a original port and a forward too port so i cant just leave that blank and why may i ask are you using the port range of 50000-51000? What would I do in this case? I am also trying to apply this to a ftp sever off of WinServer2019 instesd of filezilla server, is that possible?

they're the ports you set in the passive settings
