How to connect TouchOSC to your Computer using a hardwire connection.

this only sends midi messages over usb if i understand correctly. is there a way to send osc messages over usb? for some stuff the midi resolution is too low but when i use osc over network i have a pretty bad delay.

Tim Corpus is pointing in one of his videos that the bridge is not needed for Midi over USB. ???? I think you have to use virtual ports Loopmidi for that.

Anyone been able to get touchosc on an android to send midi to external hardware? I can get it to send to my computer over usb via the bridge but I can't get any signals out to any external gear. I tried various methods getting it to go through my computer and back out and failed at that too.

Hi ! Thanks for your tutorial. It's priceless 😊 Now my Ipad and my labtop are connected via Touch osc (when I touch my Ipad it TouchOSC software is responding). Unfortunatly, live Ableton 11 doesn't. I followed your advices and Live still not receive the midi messages. Have you got an idea ? Thank you for your help ;)

Hey hey, has anyone been able to use Touch Osc through the Playaudio12 host port to control both comps in the redundant setup? I can't get touch osc to work through the host port at all.

Thank you for these awesome videos! I followed the directions for this, but I have a huge huge problem. I have both the desktop and iOS version of touch osc. I have seen KZbinrs edit their template on their desktop, and see it updated live in their iPad. I can’t find anywhere how to do this, and it’s been mind boggling. After I make the bridge and midi connections on both devices, how the heck do I mirror the two applications? It’s been so frustrating, I appreciate any help you can give me!

Hey Will! I have watched your TouchOSC course. I couldn't figure out a way to connect touchOSC from my Samsung S10 Phone to MacBook Pro M1 via USB... Is it possible? TouchOSC doesn't see USB connection on the phone app setup.

Still have problems? I have setup this Android and Windows, but i think iOS works identically. Lets assume your server is on the desktop and the client on mobile. First open TouchOSC on both devices. On the desktop: 1. Click on the wifi icon in the menu bar 2. Open the "Server" tab and enable the checkbox On the mobile: 1. Click on the wifi icon in the menu bar 2. Open the "Client" tab Now TouchOSC automatically shows all available servers found on the network. Just click "Connect" and the magic happens :) Note: both devices have to be in the same network!

i've found it finnaly, you juste need to trigger the midi message when the object is touch, not whith the X value

done this on both samsung A10 and LG thinq and cant connect via wire. Not finding in searching in bridge tab. So andorid to windows 10 wont work or I'm doing something wrong

A notification should pop up on your phone where you can set the type of USB connection (i'm on Android 12, but i think this should work from Android 6+) » Select MIDI (on my PC, Windows began to install drivers. In Windows "Device Manager" under "Sound, Video and Game Controller" i can find a new device called "MIDI function") 3. Open TouchOSC and click on the "Connections" icon left beside the wifi icon 4. Open "MIDI" tab 5. Enable Connection 1. Now if you click on "Browse" you should see "USB-Port for Android" If not, try to enable "Flight mode" and restart TouchOSC. Also note that this works for MIDI only, not OSC. And i think you should have TouchOSC bridge installed. If you right-click on the icon in systray, you should also check "Enable USB Connections".

i had the same issue, the solution was to switch the usb connection mode to "USB tethering" in the android settings, the default was "usb filetransfer"
