Good question I'm wondering what happens when you turn your WiFi hotspot on when your phone is connected to the Ethernet. Hopefully other WiFi devices can connect to the WiFi hotspot and use internet. That can be really useful when there's only an Ethernet cable available. sorry for my bad English

Bill A what you can do is just eneble wifi hotspot on you phone and connect the device via WiFi. You don't need any adapter for this method. You can also use USB tethering. You need to connect your phone to your pc via USB cable. And you can eneble usb tethering in hotspot settings. The internet connection from your phone will go to your pc over usb. I think that it's possible to do this with a router by using the usb port of the router

Depends on the Operating system. But I know any phone with an OTG M to F USB -C to USB, can connect to ethernet, as well as connecting an optical mouse also.
