Wonderful tutorial. I miss airbrushing. I've used pretty much every known medium and now I have no time to even do a simple pencil drawing. This is why I am developing a painting app but everyone will be able to enjoy to. It will bring back things I miss about real painting, such as the sound of a brushstroke on canvas while painting.

@Hummingbirds2009 I'm not very experienced with airbrushes but usually its best to get the cheaper starter kit first so that you'll know a little about how to use it and if you like it and then upgrade to the professional series. At least, that's what I'm doing. Hope I helped some.

make sure your needle is adjusted all the way forward so that when the trigger is in the closed position, the needle is resting completely in the tip of your gun. if there is even a small gap it will sprey paint when you only want air. i use the badger anthem and it does it sometimes if the needle grip loosens

great videos. I picked up my airbrush and started doing these techniques and they are awesome.My airbrush spits paint/water when I'm using it and doesn't allow me to do great detail work. what could be causing the problem? How could I solve this?Thank You

I have the Badger Renegade Krome, which is double action. When I "push down for air", paint immediately comes through. Have you, or anyone else, got any ideas or solutions on how to sort this out? Thanks a lot for the tutorials by the way!

HELP.....I have an airbrush the same as yours but cheaper and after I took it apart to clean it the first time it didn't work right afterwards (spits paint now). I think I caused something to go out of adjustment but I haven't a clue what. There is a slot cut in the airbrush behind the trigger with a nut that turns. What is that and how does it work? I had a simple dual action airbrush with a trigger only (same as the one in your 'how to maintain a airbrush' video) and it worked great and I thought I was ready for a airbrush that was more advanced. Kinda bummed I couldn't get the new one working better.

Hello, I have an airbrush Iwata and the problem is when I want to make a fine line I cannot get the color out and when I press the trigger more the color comes out a lot of color, I use oil colors mixed with gasoline please help me, thanks

This concept mainly applies to Automotive full size Spray guns. It does apply to airbrushing in a sense though. If the paint requires a different. Needle size the paint will specify the recommended needle size

I am having trouble pointing on the right place when detailing becuase of the paint cup blocking my sight using graviy feed cup. i want to use gravity feed for details but im having hard time in doing a detail the paint, it will blow on the wrong place.

it's not a gun sight, why would you be having trouble seeing where your paint is going? don't try to look along the airbrush, get used to where the paint will land when sprayed from a comfortable position above or to the side of the airbrush and eventually it will go where you want it to,it's all about practice.

My airbrush occasionally splatters when I push the trigger down with only air, does it have something to do with the 2 dials on the bottom / back not being adjusted properly, and what do the 2 dials do?

Nope, this is because you aren't double actioning properly.. just always keep the air down.

if you have a bit of paint left on the nozzle from shutting the air off before the paint it will spatter when you next introduce air,or if your needle isn't seated properly it may leak a droplet of paint onto the nozzle while it's not in use and again this will make it spatter.hope this helps a little.
