Excellent introduction! I particularly like the fact that he speaks slowly and clearly. This means that for us who aren't British born and aren't accustomed to the thicker local accents, we can still follow easily. One tiny extra tip - remember to always start and finish every stroke with air ONLY. That is: air on - paint on - paint off - air off. Otherwise you tend to get unsigthly blobs of paint at the beginning and and end of the stroke.

Sir, I have been researching airbrush systems, etc. and looking for tutorials on actually using and practicing with them. You started from step one for beginners and showed the technique and maintenance. One of the best tutorials I’ve ever seen. You made my fear go away and I will be purchasing a system a lot sooner now. Thank you.

4:14 I've learned from a different video this accidental splatter is caused by residue paint being left in the pen due to stopping the air abruptly - to avoid that you need to press the lever, pull it when you want to paint and keep it pressed when you stop painting (i.e. don't stop both air and paint at the same time).

The paint is badly worn off. I will be sanding the entire safe and I plan on repainting it and adding a bit of art. I have NEVER used an airbrush! I would appreciate any suggestions for the following: 1) what BLACK colored paint product to spray the entire safe with once it is sanded to bare steel? 2) what paint product to use in my air sprayer? 3) what paint product to spray over the entire safe, in order to give it a clear coat as protection for the black paint and the artwork? Thank you very much in advance, it is appreciated!

Never ever pull out the needle backwards!!! Always push the needle trough the housing to the front. You risk needle damage and besides that, you'll take the paint throughout the housing and make all the o-rings and seals dirty.

hey buddy... im new to airbrushing but from what i gather, most manufacturers have the recommended pressure stated on the paint. by the looks the paint's viscosity and dry times effect the recommended pressure.
@AlexS-wl3nc6 жыл бұрын
Higher the air pressure the better the atomization you get. At a higher pressure you get soft border around the edge of the paint. At a lower pressure you might see drops of spattered paint.

Nerd, sorry to be thick but I'm a complete noob. I've got an airbrush and compressor. I turn it on, the pressure skyrockets, and then it turns itself off. Do I need a tank to attach to it to store the compressed air?
@benthornton87497 жыл бұрын
Does it have a regulator attached?
@charlesc63207 жыл бұрын
Ben Thornton - Yes. In the beginning, if you remember he adjusted a dial. That dial is linked to the regulator, and is used to adjust the PSI.
@charlesc63207 жыл бұрын
Naho Saenoki - Do you have an internal or external regulator? If you have an external, this will make more sense because you can see the actions in real time, with dual gauges, one monitors the tank overall PSI, and the other displays the output PSI. Every compressor, that I've dealt with anyway, from a low volume airbrush, to my shops 29 gal, 150 PSI will run until it hits its 'full' cutoff point, or you decide it's full enough to complete your task at hand, and shut down manually. This, however, doesn't have anything to do with your output PSI. So, after being used, and your compressor falls below a preset tank PSI then it should automatically switch back on to refill the tank. This is normal, and you can actually hear the compressor kick on in the video a time or two. I know this is an old post, but I hope this helps. Let me know if there are any questions.

How often should you clean the entire airbrush? (By removing the needle) Great video by the way! Much appreciated
@kellio485 жыл бұрын
You should clean the airbrush completely by removing the needle etc on every occasion you use it. Meaning that if you are only cleaning to change paint color, you can do a quick clean as shown in the video but if you've finished airbrushing for the day, you should do the complete clean. This will avoid any paint still in the air going hard which will result in the airbrush most likely malfunctioning on the next occasion you use it. The same applies to any spray painting equipment.
@sarulaplays68615 жыл бұрын
