Finally Also you should mention if you start to port-forward you are also making your network less secure. Finally I also think you should mention if you are on the go your lag will increase drastic and it will use large amounts of data ( What is handy to know if your on a dataplan)

The program Parsec has much better quality and lower latency. For gaming I think that it is a must if you are streaming games to either another PC or your phone.

Google chrome remote has been the most reliable for me and your phone doesn't have to be on the same network. You can be on 4g. I use this to control my home pc while at work. Plus its stupid easy to setup. No router settings or anything just install sign-in and go.

There is no need to do any WOL over the WAN, that should all be done locally. Also never try to set up a stream from a local system over the WAN IP, as not all routers have NAT loopback.
