How to convert a vintage car stereo to Bluetooth for classic cars

I have a 75 Triumph Spitfire and it didn't come with a radio. So I am going to get one of these and mount it threw the cigarette lighter and use the part that pops out as the on/off and volume. Need to make more content its been 2 months!! I just subbed and got you to 100!

Fantastic idea !!! the only thing I would add is a light that illuminates the scale (controlled by the lighting of the car).

Thank you, that's a very good idea. As in another comment mentioned scale alumination would be fine. Another issue: Wiring only the left or right channel - you only hear the half signal. You could improve the whole thing if you use a mono bluetooth modul. There's one to be found in the bay which has some functions in the potentiometer/switch like on/off, next song, play/pause... It's called ZK-1001B Mono 100W Bluetooth. It even has a USB port. Cheers from Bavaria Germany

If the amp is Bridgeable, Speaker left negative then right positive, doubles the watts and you get both channels out of the one speaker

Some of these units are mentioning that 12v power supply as opposed to 24v reduces the efficiency. Is 12v enough?

Question, given the blue tooth unit is encased in an old FM radio box made of metal does that affect the bluetooth signal? Is there anything you need to do to get BT signal to work ok?

I have a model 80 which I’m going to give this a try. Is it easy to remove the existing workings leaving just the controls etc ? Great video and I intend to do this in my MGB with centre speaker so will use a dual voice speaker. Thanks

I tried one of these that I bought off Amazon, but it didn't work. Unlike what you did, and I really like your idea, I just tried hooking it to a speaker in my '55 Chevy truck and it was so distorted. I was very disappointed. What did I do wrong?

Cool project. Question: The makers of those Bluetooth units say they will distort with less than 5 amps of power. Should the fuse rating not be a little higher than 3 amps? Like maybe 6 or 7 amp to accommodate tolerance?
