I don't know how easy to see you converting from recarghable batt, to power adoptor. I tried, but it doesn't work. It rotate too slow...may be due to the amp difference.

Is your drill machine Brushed or Brushless? , if brushless then you will need ESC to run it just like drone motors you it's same BLDC motor.

you need to find the out the voltage and current (amp) rating of the dc motor (if it has one or armature ) like general 775 dc motor has voltage rating between 12v-24v and has current rating of 2-3A on 12v (maybe less on higher voltage) but it can draw upto 6-8A on load , so that's so you need to check the ratings .

1v difference is not a big deal since voltage reading has tolerance IMHO
