The Integra trailing arm is not needed if you order the parts listed? Basically remove drum and add bracket with supporting power stop brake kit?

Correct. The scarebird bracket bolts to the stock civic trailing arm and spindle. Take a look at latommyla's video if you want to see how its done.

I don't track the car, so I can't say from that kind of experience. I can say that I bought an SI prop valve and a 1" master cylinder/brake booster and haven't installed either because I feel like the brakes are evenly balanced and the brake pedal feels fine with the stock 13/16 master cylinder.

are the performance sure to be compatible for a 2000 civic ex ?
@tinoco822002 жыл бұрын
In order to get full braking performance you will need a 40/40 prop valve. The 00 ex prop valve is 40/20 which means it’s biased for the front brakes and limits the full potential of your rear brakes, nonetheless, the 40/20 prop valve will do fine for street driving.

I have a civic si prop valve ready to go in along with a 1” abs integra master cylinder and brake booster, but as of right now I’m still using the stock prop valve, master cylinder, and brake booster. And tbh, I kinda like the brake feel this way. I’m afraid the brakes will be too touchy once I install everything.

I heard the brakes will not engage unless using 40/40 prop valve. Will the stock prop valve from a 95 civic ex work or will I need to get a different one? Im using the rear brakes from a 97 integra with abs
@NickSabella4 жыл бұрын
@@calebbruce4346 that’s false it’ll still stop fine without changing it. I guess the brake bias is slightly different with a disc brake prop valve. You can grab it from any old non abs Honda that had disc brakes

What are your thoughts on the prop valve and brake booster? Are those going parts going to be replaced as well or ? I've heard a couple people run it that way and it worked fine for daily driving but when it came for racing/hard breaking it would work so well
@NickSabella5 жыл бұрын
I've read a lot of mixed reviews about the prop valve. I do have an si prop valve that I'm putting in it as well as an ITR MC and booster since I upgraded to ITR brakes in the next video. Imo the stock prop valve is probably fine for street use. If you have a DX I would consider at least upgrading to the 7/8 EX master cylinder, but it comes down to preference since the changing the master cylinder and booster only affect pedal feel not actual stopping power.

Trust me, I've done dozens of rear disc brake swaps. This kit is a bad idea, just use the complete OE Honda/Acura trailing arms. Cheaper and faster, you can do it in the same time as your edited video! kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJzQkmqgg5udo5I
@NickSabella2 жыл бұрын
You obviously didn't watch the video. I do the same exact thing as your swap except I show more than you do. Why are you so against the scarebird kit anyway? Not everyone has access to junkyards nearby that have disc swap trailing arms readily available.
@GIZZMOTORSPORTS2 жыл бұрын
@@NickSabella It's just that you recommended the scarebird and it's your first link in your comments, I'm sure you agree scarebird would be plan "B". It's a $90 kit on top of the used parts most guys are buying with the trailing arms anyway. Plus 90% of the guys need to run out and buy tools to install scarebird, unlike a basic rear trailing arm swap. And for future serviceability... if somebody hits your rear wheel and that scarebird bracket gets bent, good luck in a bodyshop getting one quick, that's after they can figure out what the heck is going on with the parts. I see we did the same swap, I didn't bother showing the cable part because it's literally minutes and is self explanatory. No hate here, just a response and an opinion from a guy that does this quite regularly. I'd hate to see somebody spend $90 extra to realize they have all the used parts they need.
@NickSabella2 жыл бұрын
@@GIZZMOTORSPORTS those are all good points and I agree with you 100% which is why I did the trailing arm swap in the first place. These parts are getting harder to find though at least in my area and some people don’t want to bother with used rusty parts. One of the calipers in my video ended up being bad. Also I don’t know how much you can find rear disc swaps for, but in my area they can be hundreds of dollars in which case buying the scare bird adapters and a set of new calipers is cheaper.
