Just like any fish, there are a million different ways that you can cook it, but for some reason there just isn't a lot of diversity in the world of cooking burbot, also commonly known as Mariah, Eel Pout, and Freshwater Cod.
I love the texture of the meat and the great fish flavours and aromas the meat has to offer.
As many often refer to the meat as "Poor Man's Lobster" I wanted to recreate a common favourite lobster snack, the Lobster Roll.
This is one of the easiest things you'll prepare either in the wilderness, the ice shack or in the kitchen. With a few simple ingredients and an overall prep and cook time of just a few minutes, this is a real winner.
