What a treasure Benny was. Unceremoniously dumped by Thames Television despite, no doubt, making them millions in worldwide sales as Benny was feted, celebrated and admired on every continent. I wish people would stop keep saying Benny was 'politically incorrect'. So what? PC never infested comedy like the disease it is now. Benny was a comedy genius , he gave us good harmless, well scripted hilarious humour. So what if he mimicked accents? It was all part of his comedy character sketches. Its called humour, and bloody damn funny it was and still is to this day.
