I live in the Pacific Northwest. Forget the water. Use about 2 cups quality white wine and lots of pure butter. I put in fresh thyme. I do not like garlic but if you do, add some. Steam your clams, covered, about 5 minutes. Serve with lots of melted butter and crusty sourdough bread to sop up that delicious broth. Wash it down with your favorite wine. Perfection.

Thanks @MacsOyster for sharing your delish recipe. I had just made my Manila clam in ginger broth dish and it was delicious also.

Oh my God, so easy and so delicious. I'm glad I watched this because I didn't realize that Manila clams cook a lot faster than little necks, and they would have been like hard rubber if I'd cooked them for 10 minutes. Regarding salty water to release sand, this is only an issue with wild dug-up clams. Farmed clams just need to be scrubbed and they're ready to go. We made 5 lbs of them and only like 2 clams had any sand in them.

Hi, I used your recipe, cooked the clams while looking at your generous video. I filmed my husband cooking it and talked in Portuguese at the same time. I filmed ourselves and you at the same time. The question is: Is it ok with you? I am uploading it into KZbin and if you don't like it please tell me and I will take if off the air. Thank you whatever you decide. It's a delicious recipe. Have a great 2012!

i dont think its less than 20 mins time to prepare coz u need to wash the clams to get rid of sands then u need to chop those onions and garlics which u did not show that part...normally it takes an hour or less with the preparation and thats what u need to explain to viewers u see...

nurul anis Not to mention that he stated that the clams will keep for 4-5 days in the fridge which tells me that if someone stores clams in the fridge, they must be anticipating the coming of guests so the whole scenario of unannounced guests is complete BS.

PAT READ THIS PLEASE I respect your video on clams and your efforts. But......... don't you know that the iron in clams and all alcohols give prostate cancer. You become one of the 1 in 3 men that get painful prostate cancer when you eat any food high in iron. I make sure I only eat food without iron such as eggs, nuts, rice, fruit, vegies like spinach, etc. As you can tell I'm a vegetarian.....why.....well, meat and poultry is FULL of iron and so are all fish products...and smoking, naa
