So this thing is egusi😂. My grandma always makes this when we're home and looking at it, I never thought it was egusi. But egusi ijebu>>>>>
@dr.sustainable3 жыл бұрын
Sisi Yemi is detailed!! This soup is my second best after eforiro, I love when it's cooked with Titus fish and kponmo. You twisted it by roasting first, it is to release not only the aroma but the oil in the egusi. Also I give you 6star because you added the stock last, if it had been added from the onset, the egusi would have formed lumps. Omo Ijebu re miwa, ewe so ooo
@thatmumof53 жыл бұрын
This is how we Ijebu's cook our egusi, and yes Sisiyemmie did twist it a bit, its the best way I enjoy my egusi as per Ijebu girl.

My grandmother use to cook it this way in Edo state, and the soup would be just enough for everyone of us to eat Eba and sometimes cooked without red oil.. More grace

exactly how we ijebu cook egusi soup with ewedu .we love to eat with mostly eba or amala.though we use either cow meat or roasted panla fish,shaki,,we also use bonga fish or agbodo or palamu. with locust beans or ogiri ijebu.as our seasoning。back in the days we ate this four times in a week
@GiftedLadyTv3 жыл бұрын
Haaaaaaaa SisiYemmie are you in my mum's kitchen? She use to make this when we were kids but not the Ijebu style..... She use to roast this type of egusi when ever she cooks it

Well done Sisi, I love toasting my egusi, it gives it that kind of smoky flavour, combined with eja gbigbe and goat meat. Oh my God! You can have it with any swallow, rice, bread etc…. Wa gbayi jare! God bless you. The marriage between them.. Sisi Yemmie 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Sisi yemmie! I really like this new version of how to prepare egusi soup,Especially all I have know all my life is either ugwu or bitter leaf in egusi soup,And now this without leaf and I will have to roast the egusi whole before blending that’s a new game changer and something I will be trying out.Just has you rightly said this obe egusi ijebu is with a difference and to add to the phrase na money bi difference all those whole smoked fish without pulling them apart is something I will be brain storming on😁😊🤗😋
@godwinejiofor80643 жыл бұрын
It is not new version of how they prepare egunsi. The one you know is the one you were brought up with that does not mean that is the way others prepare their own. That is egunsi Ijebu and that is the way they prepare their own egunsi from 19000

The soup looks delicious TFS :). What a surprise to see someone else toasting agushie, like my late mother always did. I'm Ghanaian by the way and 'AGUSHIE' is how we pronounce and spell 'egusi'.

It would have been best for you to put timing to each of the cooking videos you make. As in say for this quantity of pepper/soup, boil this for 10-15 min. boil for additional 10 min after adding meat or fish et-cetra... I personal look out for that. Anyway, great job Sisi Yem. Congrats on your 3rd child, may God be with you all.
