I did my first turkey in mine today and my wife said it was probably the best one I've ever fried. This is so much easier, and safer, that the oil fryer. I've done bacon wrapped chicken wings several times as well as drumsticks. This has got me wanting to do ribs next! Happy Thanksgiving!

I used mine for the first time and cooked a turkey in mine yesterday for Thanksgiving. By far the best turkey that I have ever cooked--juicy and tender. I'm going to do a pork roast Sunday.

In the rib preparation, there was a bottle of Stubbs BBQ Sauce on the counter, but didn’t see you apply any to the ribs at any part in the video. When the ribs were done an hour and 45 minutes later, next scene was you wife enjoying them. Did you baste the ribs in sauce at any time and just not include that on the video? Also, did you use the mesh cover at any point to help caramelize the ribs. About to go purchase my first Big Easy-just doing a little homework on how to prepare and cook my foodie favorites. Been wanting one of these for quite a while now, and just been putting it off, but they are currently on sale at a price that’s hard to pass up.

Only cover the fryer with the wire mesh lid during the first or last 15 minutes of the cook if you want crispy skin, using infrared heat reflected back into cooking chamber. If used throughout cook, this heat can burn food before it is fully cooked.

also doing well other then the odd nerve twitch or chest tweak. We are a couple of young guys me (39) to have had this but it made me appreciate the little things in life now quite a bit. On the treadmill 4 days a week. Sweet youtube channel btw.

Wouldn't the ribs get more heat on the inside if they were hung 90° from each other so each rib would not block much heat from the other rib...just asking?
@richardh11055 жыл бұрын
A coating of mustard helps keep the dry rub on the meat and doesn't affect the taste of the rub.

you cooked it for 1 hour and 45 minutes. was the heat on the lowest setting? cause i am cooking the exact same thing you did with my own rub, but it takes 30 minutes.
@summertimeken7 жыл бұрын
Nicole, yes, you may have a different version of the char-broil big easy. Mine doesn't have settings, so it must me at a lower temp. Thanks for the feedback.

Did you or anyone on here try loosely wrapping some mesquite or hickory chips in foil and setting them in the bottom of the basket before you start cooking to add a smoky flavor

Plain ole low and slow on a grill makes babyback ribs that are falling apart. You couldn't even try to hold them up by the end without them falling to pieces.
