@@JohnSanders thank you! Mostly meat like steak, chicken, I was looking at the grill but then saw you make steak in the air fryer new smart lid and you said it came out great? And that one can make whole meals, I guess I'll go with the new pressure cooker 🥰 thank you

I have been using the Pro for a few months with the smart probe. One thing I noticed is that if I leave the smart probe in the meat while it's resting, the heat from the probe will actually cause the steak to cook. I discovered this when I cooked two steaks side by side on the Ninja. After I removed them from the grill when the temp read 120 I noticed that the temperature rose up to 150 within a few minutes. After that I cut into both and the one without the probe inserted was a perfect medium rare. The one with the probe was medium -well to almost well-done. Both steaks were the same size.

I had a mini panic attack when the grill just shut off (I didn't see that it would do that in the instructions and I have on new glasses ;->). I lifted the lid and the chicken breasts looked done. I took them out and let them rest and cut one open. Done!!! They were delicious. I look forward to more of your videos. This is an excellent comparison video with your last steak prep. There is a strong temptation to order the new device. However; these vids show that the older Foodi is not exactly obsolete yet. The grill marks are nice and would certainly impress visitors. But the one thing you didn’t do in the first vid was sear the steak in the bottom of the pot before broiling it. So if anyone really wanted searing on the steak, they can still get it with their older Foodi without feeling they’ve been left behind. I don’t think it’s something that would make a difference to me. I find the browning from the Air Crisp more than adequate in all my uses. But one thought I did have is I would certainly reconsider very carefully before dropping $1000 on a big propane grill to sit outside through the winter. I wouldn’t advise any friends spend on anything propane now, knowing this exists.

The main similarity would be the air fry function, the grill does have a higher temp setting and that seems to be a plus...I would say that it is a very useful device that I have used more than I expected, I grill inside now than I thought I would..I will try to come up with a recipe that would work welll in both and do those together sometime...thanks for watching!

@JohnSanders5 жыл бұрын
@@OMGaNEWBIE It really is not that bad as long as you use a brush or the one that came with it... It does have deep grooves but nothing sticks to the ceramic coating
@OMGaNEWBIE5 жыл бұрын
@@JohnSanders - Thank you for replying. All non-stick coatings including ceramics are great when new, but that doesn't last long at all. All those groves reminds me of the coffee ground spouts in the coffee makers or that one cup cone you put over your cup then pour water over the grounds. Those groves are hard to clean and presently stain. In this case, it would grease/fats that get stuck in the corners and no brush will get them out. Lots of fiddling with other tools, frustration, then eventually people give up cleaning them well, much like the outside BBQ. Hopefully on their next upgraded model, after many women complain about it, they will devise an easier to clean model. But that will take years.
@JohnSanders5 жыл бұрын
@@OMGaNEWBIE you may be correct but I have had this same coating on the pot in the ninja pressure cooker for who over a year and I have never seen a product that cleans easier than it does...I hope it doesn't start getting that way because I absolutely love the product...but thanks for commenting and for watching!!!

Question for you John. Reading my manual that came with the Grill and Im looking for a clarification on something. Manual states to insert probe into your steak/chicken, roast, etc while your unit is pre-heating stage. Can you also then plug the other end into the unit itself during the pre-heat stage too, or must you wait until the unit says “Add Food”, then plug the other end of the probe into main unit, then insert the food into the unit? A bit confusing the way it is worded in the manual. Just trying to clarify for my own knowledge. Thanks, in advance.

I think I saw it at Costco and I believe it is just the older smaller grill with the smart thermometer on it...I would think it should function very similar to the new XL grill... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!

Great video, very informative. I saw the infomercial today and wanted to see a real world test and you definitely delivered. Is it big enough to cook a whole chicken if its spatchcocked? Thanks again!

It would have to be a smaller chicken and the lid would be an issue if you had the grill plate installed...hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!

Thank you for the video. Can I ask about your watch? It looks like it is a pure display of an analog watch is that correct? Can you tell me anything about it? Thanks again!

OMG, those look GOOD! I can't wait till mine gets here, I'm SOOOO ready to do some steaks in it. It was supposed to get here today, but it hasn't made it yet and FedEx doesn't normally come this late in the day. :( I ordered the Pro also. Sounded like that probe was a good idea. I love that it turns the grill off when it reaches the temp. That is so AWESOME! :)

The probe is a good idea!! And those streaks were delicious...I knocked out 1 and a half and my two 4 legged buddies even got to enjoyed some... they both said paws up👍👍... thanks for watching!!
