Venison Deer Meat Recipe Easy Venison Gravy Roasts in a slow cooker crock pot or in a dutch oven in your oven. These roasts are braised or seared and then put in a slow cooker or cast iron dutch oven for 4-6 hours at 300 F. We like to eat these over potatoes , but it can also be a stand alone meal.

I just can’t kill a deer. I get they need to thin out the herd and I’m ok with killing bucks if necessary but not the females and babies. I keep thinking if u kill a mom deer and she has babies waiting for her, and she never comes back with food, they will die, or worse, predators will kill and eat the baby deer. My heart can’t take it. My hubby has friends who are hunters and they often give him fresh deer meat. I find recipes and cook it but I don’t eat it. It smells yucky and tastes gamey yucky.
