I recommend using Select By Color on the cross section and inverting selection on the dirt texture once it has been aligned and perspective was modified, then deleting the selection instead of making many layers.

Hi, thanks for the excellent video. My question: when I create the 3-D model I don't get the solid "thickness" part as you do in yours (light grey), mine is transparent, which makes it difficult to work with in an image processing app. Maybe I missed a setting somewhere? thx

No 3D objects were rendered? There is a compatibility issue with QGIS 3D view. You need to close QGIS 3D view(s) and restart QGIS to use this preview. showing this, please help on that

It doesn't work for me, I have QGIS 3.18, I also had 3.14, I briefly installed several and it didn't work on any of them, the program says the following: "Any 3D objects not rendered? There is a compatibility issue with QGIS 3D view. You need to restart QGIS to us preview", I don't actually have this device turned on. I tried unchecking 3D from the control panel, but I didn't actually find the feature there. Please tell me which version you are using and how you get there, I can't find any solution on the internet (for example on stackoverflow and github they just don't have answers).

Thank you for your excellent video, could you please advise me? I work with WGS84 EPSG 4326 , SRTM. which projected CRS should I use (UTM Zone 35). Because I have tried a lot but the Plugin doesn't work. Thank you in advance

You can use a utm zone map to check to which utm zone your area of interest belongs to, and can use that as the projected crs

Depends on what you consider as high resolution satellite image and whether u have preference regarding MSS or Panchromatic.. As far as I kno all sensors providing image at spatial res. Of lower than 5 meters are all commercially available meaning u need to buy them.. amongst popular MSS Landsat 8 has res. Of 15m, Sentinel 2B has 10 at the highest.. in PanChro Cartosat 3 has 1.14 m.. Pleiades Neo 3 has Res. Of 30 cm.. Amongst products specific for imagery.. GeoEye and World View are ur options.. Maxar tech will be ur lookout.. Bt as I said.. they r all commercial.. some images are publicly available for free bt not of desired location.. PS: if u require images like the one used in the video, well first that not a very high resolution, secondly as its very similar to GoogleEarth image its basically Landsat and Maxar images combined.. u can get that using multiple methods.. I personally use OMM or UMD
