how would i go about adding a selectable large full screen map that can be accessed by pressing say the M key on the keyboard and being able to navigate that map to see where the player is heading? i have the widget for it created but not sure how to implement it for a button press.

this might be a little late but add a camera not to your character but to the level and make it look down on the whole level and then render it out on a render target like in the video

Hi Matt, I have a problem because I have a main menu before my game and my minimap is showing on the main menu still because of my character selection. Can anyone help me hide my minimap widget and shows only when in game instead of in the main menu as well? Thanks !

Another great tutorial. The same technique can be used to create a rear view mirror if your game needs one. There's a way to get the camera image to invert on the X or Y axis. And thank for your kind words about GALSAD!

when i enter in my vehicle or my hilecopter minimap its hiding how to fix that

Hi, I assume when you enter your vehicle you are possessing a different pawn, and your minimap is only on for your character. So you could also create the widget of minimap for the vehicle as well when you enter it. That way it will spawn in on there too. Hope this makes sense and helps :)

Hi, I've technically released 2, but they were both game jam games. One of which was a year ago, so they're not great haha. great tut ive ben looking for something like this for a while!!! but ive noticed it causes alot of performance issues in really detailed scenes and the image quality of the scene is very poor!! do you have any tips on how to improve performance of to fix the draw distance of its render!!!

That's great, thanks man! And you should be able to get "Remove From Parent" out of a reference to the widget, and then "Add To Viewport" out of that reference again to remove and add it to the screen during loadings etc :)
