I think most of the comments are focused on scripts. From what I understand, that's not what he's talking about. You can totally still write out a script for all your videos and read them word for word. What he's talking about is a framework within which the script fits. No? Anyway, Steven, thanks for this! I'm in the middle of writing a script (in point form) for a video on the Nagaoka Fireworks Festival in Japan and decided to use your framework. Many of the elements were already there (as a teacher I made do much of this naturally now) but they were disjunct and most importantly the DESIRE part was weak. Also, the word DESIRE made me consider the VIEWER's desire. They want to go to the fireworks because [background info] but it's difficult [challenge] and I'm going to give them the [solution]. I've now created the hero's journey for them!! Priceless! Thank you!

I can relate to your "un-script" method. It feels like it would be easier (and more authentic) to connect with my audience if I'm taking them on the journey of my story (rather than talking at them through a script). Thus, the whole personal branding idea. Feels like one could build trust and community this way, which inspires the audience to return again to my channel. And thanks for adding in the overlay, great visual -- I printed out a screenshot of it and posted it on my board, along with your 'Framework' flow. Great stuff, thanks so much Steven!

I was going to just narrate to make it easier and quicker to upload, but even that didn’t work. So now, it’s time to just sit in front of the camera and go for it - based on the tips in your videos of course! 😉 Thank you Steven 🌟

I keep it fairly simple at least in terms of structure - Hook, Intro, Body, Outro. I'll word for word script the Hook and maybe the Intro and Outro, and dot point the body.

Great points (No pun intended). When I tried doing scripts it just sounded so robotic and didnt flow right. Now that I do bullet points I have to make less edits and it feels like a conversation instead of me just talking at you.
