Plan & organize your life by emptying your mind of tasks, so that you can fill it with ideas and things that matter. “Use your mind to think about things, rather than think of them.” -David Allen in the book Getting Things Done.
In this video I share my system for delegating my memory bank of tasks to my planning system. This is my monthly planning and reset routine for productivity and organization. Here's a 3-step system for productivity that you can do during monthly planning to organize and plan your life each month.

I STRUGGLE with remembering things because of my time blindness. I don’t know how many times I’ve been upset that a holiday or birthday snuck up on me and I didn’t do anything for or with it. Missed seeing Santa this year cause I didn’t plan early enough for it! So the holiday is over and I’ve already planned exactly when we will be seeing Santa next year and all the other Christmas traditions I always want to be the mom that does but never remember on time. And now I’m going thru ALL holidays and birthdays for the next year and scheduling the time or the reminders so I don’t have to remember them. Dying eggs, buying fireworks, ordering Halloween costumes, end of year presents for teachers, ALL. OF. IT! I’m so tired of being upset and disappointed with myself for not remembering. I’m building my second brain.

Good on you, mama. I did this first with less frequent cleaning tasks, then added in holiday and birthday stuff and it's truly life changing. My kids birthdays, prepping for school going back, house maintenance, appliance maintenance, stuff that I want to do, all of it is written down and i never forget because it's right there on a piece of paper i look at when i do monthly planning

Such basic math when you think about it, but 5 hours a week on your passion project is 20 hours a month or 2.5 average work days (probably more like 3 because you'd be productive and not taking breaks in that 20 hours) which is actually a pretty significant amount of time! Three days a month, of solid work, just fit in around your life and full time job, which you manage by following this system and planning it intentionally. Just. Kind of mind blowing actually, what you could achieve with that time. I have a part time job which is contract work that I'm also going to apply this to, because I only work when I want and only get paid when I work, and I've been frankly very lazy about it recently and this will help me actually plan and then do the work.

THIS is what i wanted when i started looking into the Second Brain concept. I am a full time working mum, who also has a part time job and likes a clean house but can't afford a cleaner - I'm not reading extra books and needing to take notes, I need a second brain that manages all the crap I have to do! This is what i need, 100%.

Love your videos! Just curious, do you take your paper planner with you everywhere or do you also use something electronic like Google calendar?

Thank you! Good question! If I'm out and about and hear of an event I need to write down, I add it to my notes app in my phone, and then immediately add it to the planner when I get home! :) This video goes into that process: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3y3iKmrit9-oqcsi=5gLYyTjGCzJr04dR

Hi. Came across your channel as i’m looking for a goals and outcomes type of system for next year. I’m loving the series and the idea behind it. I plan to go back to a physical planner next year as i felt like i stuck to something tangible. anyways can you clarify if the printable version is 184 pages double sided. Did some quick math to have it printed and cut at stapes and it’s very expensive to do. unless i’m missing something.

Hi! Some of my family ordered their print jobs online and had them mailed to them from colorcopiesusa.com for $30 double-sided on 28lb paper in color. Definitely cheaper than $100 or so at staples. I saw the quality and it looks great!

hey, I really like your approach. just so I get it right: ideally I will define weekly outcomes for every goal/dream I listed in the beginning, won't I? or do you only focus on a special type of goals for monthly planning? how is your experience for planning and defining weekly outcomes for 10 goals? thanks and best regards from Germany

Hi! I dive into it more in the previous quarterly video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYOtf3-aqZKWptE Just add your Passion Project benchmarks and then pick however many sub-goals feels right to you. You can experiment. Some people like 10 or so. Some people only like a couple :) I like to pick a couple, and then when those become autopilot habits I add a few more.

What to do when you are a little behind compared to where you wanted to be? It is impossible to always do everything according to plan. Life happens and then you are not able to do it all.

I reset the plan! :) That's a big reason for re-evaluating not only on a yearly basis, but also quarterly, monthly, and weekly re-alignment sessions.
