Don't forget that being a content creator is very similar to running your own business. You should upload things people want to see, just like business owners offer products/services that people need in their life. The most difficult part is starting and growing to a certain point, but hard work and consistency (with a little bit of famester) will always pay off somehow. Even if you just gain a some experience, it would be worth it.
@alicefuller30718 ай бұрын
It's the payoff "somehow" that has content creators stressing. All these platforms have users working their azzes off for the "somehow" for free. And you do it for YEARS for free HOPING for some benefit. Meanwhile the platforms are collecting a check from all your years of hard work. I've worked in television for 20 years, and I can see social media is becoming more like tradition television. But at least in television, if I spend an hour producing a video I get a check. Even when I interned for free, I got a meal, free access to the best equipment. The payoff was so much greater than what social platforms provide. But keep working for the "somehow". The burnout will eventually come.

How can those “pillars” be combined if goal with social media is a combination of affiliate marketing (selling products) and gaining a clientele for private practice?
@ValentynaBiz10 ай бұрын
In that case, the affiliate products should be interesting to your target audience regarding the problems you solve. For example, a wellness coach can discuss both recipes for maintaining youthful skin (and sell courses on that topic) and recommend products for skincare. A social media manager can both talk about platforms to choose from and recommend a SMM analytic tool.

Latasha, I would be so happy to see a video on the the different platforms a ssm typically needs. Like do I need access to the backend of a website to see analytics on ad-to-cart metrics? I'm wondering how to collect data on performance metrics in once central place i.e., email clicks, social clicks, organic web interactions, etc. Do you create these campaigns in one place and share individual links to the web designer, email marketer and social media manager? Thank you!!! I hope what I'm asking makes sense.
@alicefuller30718 ай бұрын
Keisha, the platforms a social media manager needs will vary on the job you're asked to do. You may not need Google Analytics because website traffic is not part of your job. To collect performance data in once central place there are tools like Sprout Social (check for alternatives because its expensive). Hootsuite which used to be free, now charges but it's not that expensive. It provides reports too you can use for clients. If you're working on a marketing team, then your campaign data can be shared with the team depending on the tool. Hootsuite and Sprout both allow that and all you do is add their email to your account.

But I have two completely different shops on Etsy, so do I create two different Pinterest Business accounts for each shop, or do I create different boards for each shop, but keep them under ONE Pinterest account? Or how doest that work? In one of my shops, I sell printable junk journal pages and kits and in my other shop I sell printable greeting cards, party favors and wall art. Should that all be in one Pinterest account or two different ones? Thank you in advance!! Also, do I really need covers for my Pinterest boards?

Do you have a video showing how to track all social media performance o. Google analytics?
@alicefuller30718 ай бұрын
Invest in a social media analytics tool. Google analytics is for websites. So you'll track traffic from social, but it's not for measuring social media engagement. Hootsuite, Sprout Social (an enterprise tool), Buffer App, there's so many on the market and many are not that expensive for the data you get across platforms. Also, if a freelance just take the expense off on your business taxes.

Hey Latasha! Would you do an extensive video breaking down the style, genres, formats, and length of videos/posts that work on major social platforms IG/FB, TIKTOK, KZbin, etc...? I noticed not one piece of content or certaint style (5sec vids vs talking head vs education vs long captions vs hashtags) work on every platform... :/ ie. I've had a viral reel on IG that has literally 0 views on tiktok... Thank you!
@alicefuller30718 ай бұрын
Focus less on trying to appease the ever changing formats style for each platform. The platforms are constantly changing what they say works to appeal to their own business needs. Focus MORE on providing content that addresses your audiences pain points. Don't let the platform keep you on a content wheel like a gerbil...continually test what. works with YOUR audience with the goal of providing value. Otherwise, you'll soon burnout.

@alicefuller30718 ай бұрын
That depends on the audience as she said. Is it B2B or B2C? Is SAAS--Software as a Service. If Finance or accounting maybe Linkedin. If carpet cleaning maybe IG or Facebook, or KZbin. Carpet cleaning is quite visual. As she said, do your research on the audience the business serves and go from there.

Evan, you may have answered your own question. How much of what you create is based on audience insights and data vs what you THINK? The production value of your video doesn't matter if your audience isn't interested in the video to begin with. Do the research, see the trends, figure out the audience pain points and produce videos around that. AND to be totally honest, many content creators have a secret tactic of getting friends and other people to like their videos when posted to get the algorithm to show it to more people. Promote your social videos elsewhere! Email or text.
