This worked very well! Thank you so much for showing how to do this. Could you make more videos about tips on sculpting tiled textures in 3.3?

Is there any good way to keep the edges squared if I wanted to do a more intensive sculpt like rocks?

This looks fantastic, when i do the same in 2.9 I get to going to object mode after the vertex painting and it just stays the same, my vertex colors are also not grey and had to change them as one of the comments mentioned, but it still doesnt seem to merge the 2 in object mode

i'm stuck at 4:54 when i select dirty vertex colors nothing seems to happen? nothing gets saved to the attribute or color texture node either. i went back several times to make sure i was following along exactly but still nothing :( do you have any ideas what i might be doing wrong? i'm on blender version 2.82.7

I'm not sure why it doesn't work for you... one thing that you can check: - Go to the "Object Data Properties" (The tab above the Material Properties) in the properties panel on the right - There should be a subsection called "Vertex Colors" - That subsection contains a list, which should have one value, in my case that value is called "Col", which is why the attribute name is "Col" and it has to be written the same way, as in the list... Another possibility is that you might have your view port shading on solid instead of material... or it is simply a bug I hope you can figure it out! 😊

@@RigiT3D that was the solution, thank you!!!!! i'm not sure why my blender doesn't add a vertex color entry by default but oh well, now i know at least. thank you for the quick reply!!

Why do you sculpt the whole thing but then the plane (where you bake it) is half the size?
@RigiT3D
@RigiT3D 5 жыл бұрын
When we use the tiling by 1 it will repeat everything we sculpt in units of one, so on a plan with a size of 2x2 we basically only sculpting the middle part which has a size of 1x1 and the rest so 0.5 to each side will be tiled. With the border of 0.5 around the middle part we can make sure that the borders around our textures are not visible. But when we bake we only want the not repeating part so only the 1x1 in the middle.... I hope that helps... 😊
