Very helpful. Any chance you could share the material or scene for the marble at the beginning of this video?

Are you still plan on doing the viewport optimization tutorial. Just wondering cause I have run into this a lot. Thanks.

hmm, didn't work for me for some reason. I'm cursed, I've never gotten SSS to work in any program.

Why do you need a mix material ?

hi! i'm having a problem with the backlighting in that it shows noticeably on the floor behind my object. even when i change the shape to a sphere it's very obviously brighter on the floor behind my object than elsewhere in the scene. would rather not have to use a matte or multi pass with alpha... any advice? xoxo

Omg Coolteens hey! could you maybe link me to a screen shot of what you’re talking about that way I can diagnose it more for you :)

Nice tutorial, but I keep getting some random hotspots in the middle of the object.. tips?
@Zulu86 жыл бұрын
I would use path tracing to render subsurface scattering which might help get rid of your hotspots. If i was using directlighting i would set the GI mode to GI Diffuse and lower the GI Clamp to something between 1-9 but 1 works best for me to get rid of hotspots.

Actually solved it. I was mistakenly using C4ds normal lights :V

Any idea how the model in the intro was modeled?
@Zulu86 жыл бұрын
George I downloaded that model from 3D scans. The website is in the description. 3D scanned models have a lot of polygons and are created from images taken in a 360 degree motion around the model. It’s a type of point clouding method.

Zulu 8 Awesome thanks for the reply, the 3d scanned models are sublime. Thanks so much!
