I am very grateful for this video. My kinder is having trouble socializing so I'm turning one of my rooms into a dramatic play center. I felt overwhelmed by the idea at first, but after listening to your ideas I feel confident that I can pull this off. Thank you!

I like to add real-life items. small purses, wallets, keys on lanyards, dead cell phones, play phones, calculators, cameras, small lidded boxes, scarves, pets, pet bowls and of course....a MIRROR! Sounds like a lot, but it doesn't take much space but adds tons of interest.

They're free on youtube. If you would like to show them in a teacher training class, as long as you have an internet connection you should be fine.

Another fantastic educational film from you. I've learnt a lot, and it will help me plan my role play area in my classroom. Thank you!

Hi, Do you have a preferred curriculum for a preschool for developmental delay kiddos?

I'm currently working for a school that has only been opened 9 months. It's a corporate School and they have absolutely no supplies. I find it extremely frustrating because I came from a school that was well-established and you can change out your theme and all the materials were available. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

When it comes to dramatic play, the dollar store and thrift stores are your friend!

Hello Vanessa! I really enjoyed learning about your ideas for the dramatic play center. I work in a private preschool. We have the typical preschool furniture, play food, kitchen items, etc. However, I have to follow specific themes each month. For example, we are studying plants. I bought fake flowers/plants, different types of seeds (science center) and I print A LOT of visuals. I also printed "necklaces" to create roles for a flower shop. I do not have enough props for this theme or most themes. Who pays for the extra props in each center? My students get bored quickly and I do not want to spend a ton of money buying things. Dollar stores only sell certain things. Thanks for any advice.

If you're in a situation where you have a budget that would be ideal. But unfortunately, most teachers do not have a budget. If I used only the things my school provided for the dramatic play center I would have furniture only, everything else I had to buy myself by going to garage sales and thrift stores. I've even asked for donations before. Here's the complete list of all the different dramatic play scenarios I offer: www.pre-kpages.com/products/category/dramatic-play/ Each one includes a list of possible props.
