How to create a tech pack with Techpacker

Thank you for the tutorial. I wanna start freelancing service. I am having a doubt. What information should I ask for from my client in order to make a perfect tech pack. Is he going to provide me with sample garment measurements, cost sheet, fabric Type, color code etc?

Thanks for watching and commenting. Unless you are doing the designs, the client should provide you with most of the info. A lot of the time, though, you'll have to ask them for it. I would suggest going thru the tech pack template and making sure you have everything you need, especially for the BOM: fabric, mill, mill code, fiber content, colors, trims, supplier, trim supplier codes. You may want to just go thru it with them during your consultation, or let them go thru the info they have, and then you ask them questions about any info you're still missing. For fabric and trim placement, the client should tell you where they want it to go. Note that some clients may rely on you to fill out certain things, believing that you'd have an intuitive idea of where things should be placed or where things should go based on your experience. But don't be afraid to ask them. Ultimately, they should really be the one advising YOU where things should go. They can ask for your opinion of what you think is best based on your expertise, but they should really be decided what they want for their design. Cost sheet is not something you'd need to fill out. For the measurements, if you are including a spec sheet as part of your tech pack services, you should definitely ask the client for a sample you can measure.

Hello, I’m just getting started on this lol but what does it mean by supplier wouldn’t the supplier be the person/ manufacturer your sending it to?

Hi, thanks for watching and commenting. The supplier is the company that supplies your trims. Similarly, the mill would be the company that supplies the fabric. Factory or manufacturer (or vendor) is the company that makes the garment.
