How to Create a Watercolor Photoshop Brush

I feel so stupid. This is actually so simple. I love this. This will help me so much! I’m working on a customer planner for a friend at work and I want to use watercolor but anything I found wasn’t high res enough, I was too lazy to figure it out. But decided to see what it would take. This was so helpful! Thank you!!

Just as a heads-up to anyone following along but using a different texture: If your texture is larger than 2500x2500 pixels, "Define Brush Preset" will be greyed out. Make sure the image's largest dimension (width or length) is 2500 or smaller for this to work!

So many of these tuts on watercolor take this approach. There IS a difference between a stamp and a brush: This is a stamp. It looks like watercolor because it's a Picture of watercolor. Disappointing. I watched all the way to the end for nothing.

THANK you BIG time for this amazing tutorial. Just a tip for people following this tut. I faced a problem where my brush preset option was greyed out even though i followed the instructions. I found out that the reason was that we cant set an image greater than 2500px by 2500px to brush preset. So i resized my image to 2500*2500 and Voila....

But how did you make the samples in the watercolor kit? Did you actually paint them on paper, scanned it and then removed the background and made it into the brushes in Photoshop and Illustrator or did you make them digitally in Photoshop by using preset brushes or creating your own brushes?

Teela.... I can't. I have seen them and I am looking for a simple stroke in Orange very simple with no background... but some nuances that make it look like watercolor vs just a brush stroke...That is it... I have tried seeing so many tutorials and tried doing it myself and it just does not work! Please help!
