I was expecting this video. Every time I go for an atmospheric OSL like that I always use the airbrush because it feels too daunting to use the brush for that, even though you get more control with the brush and a more expressive result. Watching you do it motivated me to give it a try. Thank you Juan!

You can use both, first the airbrush and then retouch with the brush, theyre not exclusive :)

I always learn new tricks watching your videos. I love that you keep mistakes in there and show how you adapt and pivot. It's really helpful. I had just realized I never see you airbrush, but you do use it from time to time (like with this mini for zenithal). I'm just curious, why don't you use it to apply color at early stages? Is it not particularly well suited for contrast paints?

Incredible. I'd never thought of painting the glow on FIRST like that before to avoid the problems of "colour over colour". Looks like a new way to try it, after I struggled with OSL before. Quick question, do you have anything anywhere that shows your painting posture? You keep your brush so stable. I know it's different for everyone and steady hands is a skill of it's own, but just curious.

Love you Juan. I've never remembered to ask this question. On a lot of your vids you don't use the edge of your brush to do edge highlights. Why? You usually only use the tip 😉. Is it a control thing? Consistency? I mainly ask for the final thinnest highlight specifically

More control, the side can give inconsistent results. Also there are places where you cannot use the side, so learning how to use the tip is extremely useful.

What do you use for your zenithil layers? I've been using inks and have noticed that the contrast paints tend to frequently strip off the zenithil layers in spots, particularly if brushed on a few times.

In this case I used white air acrylic. Army Painter Air White to be precise. The Army Painter Air range is actually fantastic.

Of course! I like Raphael 8404, and equivalent size would be a 2 I believe but I would also get a 1 it's a fantastic brush. Alternatively the Windsor & Newton series 7 is great, the 2 is basically identical in size to the Rosemary 3
