The values you are setting on the Set Transition Duration are frames, not seconds, to put 2 seconds you have to set 2:00

how come when i try to do this, the transition only comes on the audiofile thats to the left? and not both files.. I mean its suppose to be a transition between 2 sound clips...

Trim the clip you are applying the effect to first. The effect requires frames to create the effect if that makes sense. It's the same with a cross dissolve (transition). So if it is just the original clip then it has no audio to use for the actual effect. (in this case a fade).

Yes, you ca use this for transition music smoothly without any noticeable changes.

It's not a "J Cut" A "J Cut" (like the name implies) is a cut in the audio, it may be softened by a small dissolve but the point is that it makes the incoming audio start before the vision cut - it pre-empts the cut. An "L Cut" is the opposite. The outgoing audio continues beyond the video cut. "J Cuts" are used to pre-empt scene changes and ease the narrative transition.

Yes! You can do this by navigating to your bin default settings and changing the "default audio transition" duration.

This is nothing like a J cut- if the “power” levels were too juxtaposed on your J cut you'd still need to apply the constant power transition.
