This is a technique that I love to use regularly when I am applying foundation on my clients. Once you figure out your client's undertone and the right foundation you can take foundation that is one or two shades deeper and naturally sculpt their face using this technique.
A couple of viewers have been commenting about the audio in my last video. I have uploaded this video again and made some adjustments, hopefully you can hear what i'm saying

You’re the real stuff! So happy to have discovered your channel and it’s great that you’re a fellow Torontonian 😬 I just had a quick question about the brush usage on dry skin because sometimes all the blending makes the flakes come out.
@AngieDiB
@AngieDiB 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Chez! I think you are asking if I would buff the foundation on, on a dry flaky skin? If so, I would use the same technique but my skin prep would involve a slight exfoliation and moisture mask if that was the case. However it really depends on the individual client.

can you do a video on the benefits to using a sponge v. a foundation brush and the best techniques on how to apply. I've realized a wet sponge can be better on dry/dehydrated skin but maybe that's just me. But i'd love that tutorial

could you please do another tutorial like this basically defining the shape and equalizing the skin tone with light and dark foundation but with actually textured skin, by that I mean someone like me who has acne scars, lines on the forehead and combination to dry. That would greatly help and be appreciated pls.

Hey Angie...I look forward to your videos every week! Love them!! I’m an ‘emerging’ MUA and looking to cut down on my time per client (I have watched your previous video/s on this) but I’d love to see you do a client’s makeup from start to finished in an unedited video to see how long it takes you and how I could possibly save time. Thanks so much xx

Hey! I would love to do a video on this but the reality is I need to be in front of my client to work quickly which doesn’t work for filming. I have played around with changing my camera positioning but I actually do not have enough space in my apartment to record something like that. Hopefully in the future!!

Hi Angie, if you would have corrrected a bit, you would have used an orangey corrector correct? Or purple too? Thanks!
@AngieDiB
@AngieDiB 6 жыл бұрын
That would depend on what you think needs correcting! I did mix in mid-peach corrector which is appropriate for her skin tone and neutralizes any discolouration under the eyes.

Absolutely love your channel! Do you set the entire face with powder still with this technique? I have learnt that traditionally you need to set all creams and liquids with powder failing which the longevity of the makeup will be affected. Would love your feedback on this.
@AngieDiB
@AngieDiB 5 жыл бұрын
It totally depends on what I'm doing and the finish I want on the skin. For beauty shoots I don't like a lot of powder because I want the skin to look fresh on camera. Setting with powder for longevity is very dependant on the foundation you are using. Some self setting foundations don't require a lot of powder (or powder at all to stay in place) where some will require powder so they don't slide off the skin. You have to really experiment with what you have in your kit.

I loved this video, thank you Angie! I got a question, I used to worked with a makeup artist that told me that my brushes looked unprofessional cause they are from different brands; i have some from real techniques, some mac, some b-dellium. I see you use algo some RT ones. I don´t know how to feel about this comment she made. What do you think?

This video came at the right time! Thank you Angie! Do you have a video about under eyes? I do tv makeup too but working with under eyes that gets dry even when I hydrate with a serum is becoming an issue. Its very creasy and looks dry, even on myself sometimes. I don't know what to do.

Hey Briana! This is a tough one - do you only use serums or creams as well?
@ArtofBriJones

I only have chidoryia eye serum.
@AngieDiB
@AngieDiB 6 жыл бұрын
I personally would not use a serum at all under the eyes for most work. A lot of serums just sit on the skin and will cause your makeup to slip and slide and crease. But totally my own opinion. Definitely maybe experiment with a cream.
@ArtofBriJones

Do you tend to do this dimension technique usually with foundations with foundation only and not the combination of concealer and foundation? So many people use concealer in the center of the face for dimension.
@AngieDiB
@AngieDiB 6 жыл бұрын
Just foundation, concealer is way too heavy for most of the work that I do. I couldn't put my talent on camera with layers of foundation and concealer - with filming in HD, I would lose my job LOL

Hi Angie! Thank you so much for sharing this technique with us! Do you use the same brush while working with the different shades of foundation? It seems that you switch to different shades using the same brush without worrying too much that the colors get all muddled up all together, or is it that you start with the light shade first, then dark and then blend and spot treat? Thank you!
@AngieDiB
@AngieDiB 6 жыл бұрын
I use the same brush! I build the foundation with small amounts of product - I’m so familiar with this technique and how much foundation is necessary that I’m not overly concerned with the two colours getting muddled together (it actually works to my advantage to have them blend slightly). The brush isn’t saturated with product and I have control over where I put each shade on the face.

It's funny because with lighter skin tones like myself, we have lighter necks and a darker face haha. I've been messing around with this technique for a while and since I have a few foundations that are too dark, it seems to work out

Angie, for this same make up look, could I use the Face Atelier Foundation and mix it with the Mac correctors, for example, mid Peach (in the liquid form in the conceal and correct duo, for example) to do the concealer of her undereye and other parts of her face instead of the Mac Studio concealer? I prefer using Liquid Products, especially on the under eye are because I feel it doesn't emphasize the fine lines if you blend it well, but would love to hear your opinion. Thank you
@AngieDiB
@AngieDiB 6 жыл бұрын
It would work but it would be very dependant on how much coverage your client needs under the eye.
