I have been waiting for a video like this for so long. Thank you so much!

Awesome man! I been wondering if you were going to continue uploading tutorials now and then. I started learning unreal a long while ago watching your channel and i always come back time and time again just to check on it :)

I got a pretty good performance boost by having "capture every frame" toggle on/off through tick event to cap fps to 30 or even less, it gives a "laggy network" effect. It's maybe a consequence of my lumen/rtx settings, but ~60fps have some hard impact on performance isn't ? Even with only one capture. I tried few implementations of "portal" effect which always rely on scene capture, and I was always disappointed with performance :/

Would I be able to add a filter on it to make it like an old school camera tho?

Question about Render Target. If there is no sky or directional light in the scene because it is an indoor scene. The CCTV wont render the interior walls as just be very dark. Is there a workaround? Other than adding a directional light to an interior scene that has no windows!

Is it possible to create a toggle button to turn on/off the camera with an input key?
@MattAspland5 ай бұрын
Absolutely, on the button press you can either set the camera component to not be active, or you can change the material on the monitor to be something other than the camera output, then switch it back again to turn back on. You can do that with “set material” in a blueprint for the monitor mesh

Good stuff. Is there a way you can interact with the monitor an switch between cctv cameras locations. Like in Duke 3d.
@MattAspland5 ай бұрын
You can either do it in a UI and change the image material being used, or create a blueprint for the monitor and change the material being used using “set material”
@jason_tarr5 ай бұрын
Be aware this will destroy framerates - the more screen renders running the worse the impact. Each additional camera will reduce framerates.

A work around is to change the lower poly Lods to use a material that is less frame rate. And the furthest away lod can be either white bloom "on" material. Or a black dark gray material for when its "off" or damaged.

The screen image captured by the camera is black. Is there any solution?

Why is there no word about fps? Is it because it drops critically with each new camera? Why give such "lessons"?
